📦 11 European associations (including FEICA), representing producers, product formulators (downstream users), distributors and end users of #chemicals, published a joint letter regarding the ongoing revision of the #CLP: https://lnkd.in/eYvUwJZt Our products range from detergents, aerosols, paints, inks, toners, pressroom chemicals, #adhesives and #sealants, #construction chemicals, fragrances, cosmetics disinfectants, lubricants, and chemical distributors to #DIY and home improvements, retail and wholesale, and flexible #packaging manufacturers. We provide millions of jobs across Europe and supply products that play a crucial role throughout the European economy. The fact that we have the same concerns should raise alarms. While we acknowledge the importance of ensuring clear and concise information on product #labels, we firmly believe that the impact of the changes proposed in the revised CLP regulation has been greatly underestimated in the European Commission's impact assessment, especially with regard to minimum requirements for #labelling. More info available for #FEICA members via the FEICA Extranet here: https://lnkd.in/em-VBn3D #SMEs

EXTENDED PRODUCER RESPONSIBILITY Just when you thought you were done with environmental compliance, you are faced with the liability of complying with your Extended Producer Responsibility. (EPR) EPR applies to companies manufacturing or importing identified products. This responsibility requires the company to establish and implement an extended producer responsibility scheme that includes the entire value chain. All new producers of identified products, who commence producing after the Regulations came into effect, must register with the department within 3 months of being established, by completing the online registration process Failure to register is a criminal offence.
