In this new reality of climate change, the sooner businesses prioritise sustainability actions, the better prepared they will be to manage risks and capture new growth opportunities. Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has made a big move towards promoting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting by listed companies. They've released the PSX Primer on ESG, a detailed booklet to guide companies on reporting about ESG issues. This primer helps companies understand the opportunities and risks related to ESG, and it also educates stakeholders about using ESG data. PSX aims to encourage companies to produce Sustainability Reports. This initiative aligns with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP)'s guidance to promote ESG reporting among listed companies. Mr. Farrukh H. Khan, the MD & CEO of PSX, said this is a significant step towards realizing PSX's vision for ESG reporting. Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, Chairperson of PSX, emphasized the importance of this primer in promoting responsible and sustainable business practices.
