Alex has been a lifelong cardiac patient at Cincinnati Children's. Diagnosed with a heart defect at birth, he has had three heart surgeries with us, and during his hospital stays, his sister would bring a stuffed animal and a book to read while visiting. Today, Alex is 15 years old, and wanted to give back to others undergoing cardiac surgeries by providing them with "a friend and a story." As part of his Eagle Scout project, he collected 107 stuffed toys and coordinating books, exceeding his initial goal of 100! Thank you, Alex!
Humankindenss demonstrated!
The power of scouting!
As a parent to a child that has had multiple surgeries and hospital stays, I know this means the world not only to the patient but to the patient's family. THANK YOU, Alex!
That’s really heart warming
Stories nested in a story. Way to give back! 💝

4wAt 9 months old I trusted my child’s life (for the first of many times) to the doctors at CCHMC. They are the only people I trust more than myself to keep my son safe.
