#veterans - The GI Bill is a great benefit that our Military Veterans have earned, often at great cost. But most Student Veterans are unable to finish their degrees with just the GI Bill. As nontraditional students, these Veterans (and often their spouses) face financial barriers that make the goal of a college degree nearly impossible. Student Veterans attending Texas A&M bring notable strengths that will impact our State, Nation & World. Creating Endowed Scholarships at Texas A&M for Veterans and their spouses make lasting impacts that serve future generations of Veterans who aspire to call themselves Aggies. YOU can help make that impact a reality.
Scholarships change students’ lives, and no one says it better than our own Al Pulliam ’87, assistant vice president for scholarship programs. 👍 We are thrilled to share his passion and expertise with you in our new Giving Academy video series on creating scholarships at Texas A&M University. Dive in as he discusses the need for scholarships in Aggieland and the many options for customizing your gift! Check it out: https://bit.ly/3wdXxuM

Leading Athletic Scholarships & Recruiting Expert | Helping Parents Overcome Athletic Recruiting Challenges | Alleviating the Recruiting Process Stress | Transforming Student-Athlete Dreams Into Realities
Post 3: Understanding Full and Partial Scholarships What Do Athletic Scholarships Cover? Full athletic scholarships typically cover tuition, fees, room, board, and course-related books. However, most student-athletes receive partial scholarships, which cover only a portion of these costs. In addition to athletic scholarships, many student-athletes benefit from academic scholarships, NCAA financial aid programs like the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund, and need-based aid such as Federal Pell Grants. These combined resources can significantly reduce the economic burden of higher education. Learn more.

Amazing, please check out this new website and resource! Collegiate Recovery Programmes, or CRPs, are designed to support students and staff who strive for recovery from substance use, alcohol, or behavioural addictions, while achieving success in higher education. CRPs create environments within existing campus cultures, and wellbeing programmes, where people in recovery feel safe, supported and valued. Research from the 150 CRPs in the United States has found that CRPs contribute to both successful recovery from addiction, and improved academic outcomes when compared to the general student population. While CRPs are often different from university to university, these predominantly peer-led programmes include features such as recovery-friendly events, spaces and accommodation, opportunities to challenge addiction-related stigma, and enhance the scope of existing student wellbeing and support services Zoe Faragher-Thomas Victoria Seed Lucinda Jenkins Johnny Graaff Rupert Syme John Elford John McKeown Paul Flynn Johan Sorensen Jaz Dalrymple Deirdre Boyd Lee FitzGerald Talitha Fosh MBACP FDAP Tanya Haynes James Hitchen Richard Coltart Richard Turrell Seán Wood Start2Stop

NIL education isn’t just for student-athletes 🤓 Yesterday, we hosted our first NIL webinar for all UCLA athletics staff members in partnership with ADVANCE! This was a great overview of available resources, programming, common challenges, etc. It’s easy to forget that not everyone is thinking about NIL 24/7 (I know… crazy…), but department-wide buy-in is important as we head into a crazy year for NIL and college sports. A few key takeaways from the meeting: 🔹There are a lot of bad actors out there. 🔹Our athletes are smart, but they’re not immune to making common NIL mistakes. 🔹UCLA has incredible internal resources for NIL - taking advantage of them starts with being aware of them! 🔹The NIL ecosystem has many layers beyond NCAA guidelines - marks & logo policies, MMR companies, collectives, etc. Thank you Ashley Wechter Courtney Altemus Rashad I. Campbell Luke Fedlam for leading the call yesterday. See you soon 👀

Proud to be a University of South Carolina Gamecock! There are lots of reasons to have Gamecock pride, but today my pride focuses of access and affordability of higher education for South Carolina high school graduates. Starting with admissions for the fall 2024 semester, USC will admit all students in the top 10 percent of their class at South Carolina high schools. Admissions = access. But as President Amiridis wrote, “…access without affordability is sometimes meaningless.” So in addition to access/admission, the USC Commitment will cover costs of tuition and academic fees for South Carolina students who are in the top 10% of their graduating class and whose family income is less than $80,000. Accesss and affordability… that’s how change, how difference is made. Go Gamecocks!
