Managing Director at One-Two | Industry Awards Judge | Paid Ads for ecommerce businesses that invest in their success
11 years ago I graduated from Leeds Met with a 2:1 in Business Management. I was done with studying in my last year as after a placement year working in marketing, I’d already found my calling and was working there 2 days a week whilst doing my last year. I thought about quitting so many times. I couldn’t tell you what I learnt at uni outside of doing countless SWOT’s, 4 P’s and accounting stuff I hated & never understood (and why I have an awesome accountant in James Denton now). Experience over education every time for me. I didn’t completely hate my uni experience & learnt a hell of a lot (but not much useful stuff for my career as it turned out) Here’s some things I’d love to tell my 20 year old self: ✔ Trust your instinct ✔ Say yes to opportunities ✔ Don’t compare yourself to others ✔ Get as much working experience as can ✔ Question everything & don’t be afraid to stand up ✔ Ask for help - you don’t have to do everything alone ✔ You won’t always fit in spaces and that’s okay - don’t change yourself for others The 33 year old voice of reason has spoken 😂 If you’re graduating this year and looking for a step into the digital marketing world, drop me a message.

Hey everyone, Athul here! Today, I want to share a story about a recent turning point in my career. Like many BCom graduates, I embarked on the accounting path, but after some time, I realized it wasn't sparking the joy I'd hoped for in a career. This realization wasn't a bad thing, though! It actually pushed me to explore and discover new possibilities. And that's where the beauty of exploration comes in. Through online research, I stumbled upon the dynamic world of digital marketing. From the get-go, it resonated with my interests – the creativity, the constant evolution, the potential to connect with people in innovative ways. I knew this was something I wanted to be a part of. But there was still a hurdle – finding the right place to learn the ropes. My top priority? Practical knowledge and industry expertise. So, I dove headfirst into researching various institutes, spending weeks comparing programs and faculty. Finally, I found the perfect fit CDA ACADEMY. Their focus on practical learning and industry-relevant skills is exactly what I need to launch my digital marketing journey. I'm incredibly excited to embark on this new chapter and dive deep into this exciting field. This experience has taught me the importance of self-discovery and taking charge of your career path. If you're feeling unfulfilled in your current role, don't be afraid to explore! There's a whole world of possibilities waiting to be discovered.

Networking events like these provide an amazing opportunity for the firms to get to know you, which should give you an “edge” when applying for ACCT jobs either this spring or next fall. Hope you can make it out!! Accounting Students' Association #networking #networkingsuccess

Accounting is so much more than crunching numbers. It's about making connections, building relationships, and enabling the success of both your team and your clients. But how do you convey that at the high school level? You bring in the students, and demonstrate firsthand what it's like to work as a CPA! Thanks to Junior Achievement of Northwestern Ohio, we were able to do just that... This week, we hosted students from Toledo Public Schools, Clay High School and Anthony Wayne Local Schools for tours of our offices, interactive games and an overview of what pursuing a career in accounting can look like. What did we learn? ➡ The future is bright 🕶! #accountingjobs #toledoohio #workhardplayhard #afitforlife

I wanted to be an accountant… … but I ended up as a marketer. Coming up on the summer break I’ve been reflecting on how our careers take the shape that they do. During my highschool years I was convinced that I wanted to be an accountant. The logical aspect of balancing ledgers and ensuring financial integrity of businesses really appealed to me. That is, until I was introduced to my first marketing subject in university. The mix of creativity, strategy, and consumer psychology captivated me in ways I had never anticipated. So that is the direction I went in. It’s what I built my career on and I’m loving every aspect of it to this day. In hindsight, it becomes clear that our careers are often the product of chance, a series of coincidences that lead us into unexplored territory. My goals of becoming an accountant were not abandoned; rather, they were modified and blended into a bigger vision that included my newfound love for marketing. The journey from numbers to narratives, from ledgers to branding strategies, was not a linear progression but a reflection of how unpredictable life can be. So I fully subscribe to the philosophy that our career paths are not only shaped by deliberate choices, but heavily influenced by key moments in life that redirect our course. It’s in these unplanned encounters and discoveries that we find our true calling, often hidden in the most unexpected places. Looking at it this way, my career in marketing is not just a destination but an ongoing journey driven by the twists and turns that we encounter on our way. What’s your story? Did you end up where you are by chance? Or did you know what you wanted to be from a young age and happened to become exactly that? #CareerJourney #CareerGrowth #MarketingPassion #UnexpectedPaths #ProfessionalDevelopment #CareerEvolution #PassionAndPurpose #CareerInspiration #LifeLessons #MarketingLife #EmbraceChange #CareerStory #FollowYourPassion
