Founded in 1946, by the famous French Fashion designer Christian Dior, in Paris France.
Dior was financially backed by #businessman Marcel Boussac, who provided #funding and with a capital of
FFr 6 million opened a new couture house (made to order clothes for private clients), Boussac modelled it to be a vertically integrated textile business.Even though Boussac was known to be a control freak he allowed Dior to produce clothing under his name ,provided #legal#leadership of the name Dior,a #noncontrollingstake and one third of the #pretax#profit on top of giving him a good salary.
In 1947 Dior launched his first collection for spring and summer 1947, comprising a show on 90 models on six mannequins (dress dummies), which he showcased at the company's saloon, impressing the editor in chief of Harper's Bazaar, Carmel Snow. It is credited for reviving the Fashion industry in France.

An outlet was set in London in 1952, the first Dior shoe line was produced in 1953 and then stores were opened in Mexico ,Canada,Italy and Cuba.
Dior produced the first lipsticks in 1955, however he sadly passed away shortly after that in 1957.

Yves Saint Laurent at 21 was chosen to succeed Dior as the Artistic designer for the clothes line ,he worked till 1960 and then multiple designers took over. In 1969 the Christian Dior Cosemtics was launched and the first Dior watch 'Black moon 'was launched in 1975. In 1978 Willot Group purchased Dior and when willow went bankrupt Beranuald Arnauld purchased the company. In the 1990s Dior expanded globally and was listed in the Paris stock exchange .In 1991 the company was restructured as
