Yes, the journey towards our collective liberation is demanding. Yes, it is deep work. But it's not a case of all work and no play. It's important to embrace joy and pleasure. In a world that wants to tie our “worth” to our productivity, making space for play is an act of resistance. Cultivating spaces for laughter, celebration, and relaxation not only sustains us but also fosters a sense of community and solidarity. It's simply people living the full, vibrant spectrum of human experience. Which is precisely what our collective work in the Resilient Racial Justice Leadership Certificate Program seeks to protect and elevate. Though we will be earnest stewards of our time together, it's not about “productivity.” It's about nourishing our souls and accessing our resilience. If you’d like to learn more about our Certificate Program, which is currently enrolling, please click the link in our bio. Enrollment is open now through Monday, January 15.

According to the study, 1 in 3 Gen Z (under 30 years old) Black and Latino educators anticipate leaving the profession, with 71% of those expecting to leave within 1-2 years. This echoes an IAU report that the district is projected to lose 100 Black educators per year, while fewer Black educators are entering the profession at LAUSD. :-( This research is so important to discuss, especially as we are thinking about the future of education. Thank you Diversity in Leadership Institute for this work!

Another grantee we would like to spotlight for celebrating diversity this month is The Anti Defamation Leagues Youth Leadership Conference. Anti-Defamation League Youth Leadership Conference: Exploring Diversity. Challenging Hate. As the incidents of bullying, bigotry, and name-calling in schools have drastically increased in recent years, ADL recognizes that getting students involved in being part of the solution can create positive change in school environments. This annual conference brings together more than 500 students from 65 schools throughout Eastern PA, NJ and Delaware to participate in hands on workshops and engage in dialogue about difference, the challenges and opportunities diversity brings, and how they can make their schools and communities more inclusive places for all. They return to their schools with practical skills to become leaders and agents of change. The ADL is the leading provider of anti-bias education and diversity training programs that help create and sustain inclusive school, community and work environments. The Foundation is committed to investing in young people today to create more harmonious schools and communities tomorrow. #DiversityMatters #InclusionForAll #CelebrateDiversity #UnityInDiversity #EmbraceDifferences #EqualityNow #DiverseWorld
