Hospitality Technology featured Skip Kimpel, among other experts from HT‘s MURTEC Content Council, in this article about what operators are looking for in their next POS system. According to Skip, "there are two trains of thought with POS investments, depending on the size of the organization. Smaller operators seek a 'boombox' approach, where key functionalities are built into the system without needing additional third-party products. However, once you add in all the extra options, costs can exceed expectations. The benefit is dealing with a single vendor for any issues. Larger restaurant chains, on the other hand, should prioritize deep integration capabilities with best-of-breed solutions.” Read More: https://lnkd.in/g6_MypXY #restauranttechnology #restauranttech #hospitalitytechnology #pos #pointofsale #cms

new open business idea: Plaid for Restaurants POS Systems there are like 40 POS systems for restaurants. restaurants need to connect their POS to lots of places (like food delivery). most of these food delivery places just integrate with the super easy ones (like Toast) competitor: Omnivore (now Olo) has tried it but only has 12 integrations and just 27k store locations on the platform: https://lnkd.in/enGFVTtB EatApp Malta is a reservation system (like OpenTable company) and they had to do 40 integrations themselves. crazy. they'd benefit from a Plaid for Restaurant POS Systems. https://lnkd.in/eMdZ9NWi this is a quick way to build a super valuable company

Restaurants seek cost-effective solutions to streamline operations 💡Hospitality accounts for two-thirds of mobile POS installations worldwide. Small and medium-sized restaurants, in particular, are investing in agile and cost-effective solutions which typically bundle POS hardware, software and payment services together. The largest providers of such solutions include Clover, Square and Toast. 💡As well as unifying their point-of-sale, payment and kitchen display systems, these solutions provide other functionalities like online ordering, team management, sales analytics and, crucially, integrations with third-party delivery platforms. 💡Among the scores of quick-service restaurant (QSR) chains around the world using bundled solutions are Australia’s Fish Bowl, Japan’s Crisp Salad Works, the USA’s Diedrich Espresso, the UK’s Perky Blenders, and Canada’s Tapi Go. 👉 Find out more at https://lnkd.in/e-TYjzgq #retailtechnology #pointofsale #customerservice
