Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Jubilee Day, is a federal holiday that commemorates the announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas on June 19, 1865. Although the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed by President Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863, it took more than two years for the news to reach Texas, which was still under Confederate control during the Civil War! #politics #unitedstates This post from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute appears to be mobilizing the United States for major conflicts on two fronts if recent public remarks by Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen are any indication (CNBC, U.S. can 'certainly' afford military support to both Israel and Ukraine, Janet Yellen says https://lnkd.in/eKWrrQV4) or for a world war should these two conflicts metastasize into one as Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy had called for on many occasions. I take world leaders seriously when they speak. True. Ronald Reagan was indeed correct about sacrifice for American progress. Americans have sacrificed their life, limb, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, enough in a state of perpetual war for 22 years since 9/11 because the U.S. government had not only created the conditions for it but was unable to prevent it. Now it is time for the do nothing kleptocrats in charge since 1993 who have done more harm than good for the United States to sacrifice. Without sarcasm and in all sincerity this is the honest and truthful solution to make progress together. The phrase ‘war crime’ is a redundancy because all war is crime. I do not believe in punishments even for the criminally insane. I am willing to work with them to rehabilitate their souls. As Step #1 of this rehabilitation, please give me an accounting of every dollar and cent spent on national security and defense since the day after 9/11 on The White House public website by Thanksgiving, all unclassified if any of it is classified.
President Reagan believed in the sacrifices that America makes every day to protect our freedoms and advance the cause of liberty. Do you think America is still on track? Let us know in the comments. #ReganLegacy #AmericanSacrifice #AmericaFirst

This revolution of the mind had physical consequences as Americans openly and sometimes violently opposed Great Britain’s new assertions of control. The right to representation, political independence, separation of church and state, nationalism, slavery, the closure of the Western frontier, increased taxation, commercial restrictions, use of the military in civil unrest, individual freedoms, and judicial review were some of the salient issues that boiled up in the revolutionary cauldron of Britain’s American colonies. This should remind any of us who can think for themselves the revolutionary spirit which founded our nation. Americans have always fiercely defended their rights and freedoms, from political independence to individual liberties. Today, we face an unprecedented invasion and an attempt to financially destroy and dibilitate a nation. American citizens the have a great spirit of resistance and determination which will lives on. There are many who remember the lessons of the past and continue to fight for a better future. #AmericanRevolution #Freedom #Rights #Resistance

Independence Day is by far my favorite holiday. I love the summer, I love fireworks, and I love America. In case you need a reminder of what the holiday is all about and the true sacrifice made by our Founders to create the United States of America, take 10 minutes to watch this video on the Declaration of Independence from the legendary Paul Harvey. https://lnkd.in/gUaNcSRx

Juneteenth, officially Juneteenth National Independence Day, is a federal holiday in the United States. It is celebrated annually on June 19 to commemorate the ending of slavery. The holiday's name is a portmanteau of the words "June" and "nineteenth", as it was on June 19, 1865, when Major General Gordon Granger ordered the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas at the end of the American Civil War.
