Fellow Torontonians, How Civically Engaged Are You? A new report from the Toronto Foundation's 2023 Vital Signs Report, shows a concerning trend regarding our falling levels of collective civic engagement. Being an active community volunteer has always been part of my DNA, and I consider myself very fortunate to be able to give back with my time, skills, and dollars. In addition to providing stats the report, provides resources and suggestions for getting involved. These stats won't change unless those of us who can engage take up the challenge. I applaud the report's focus on helping readers take action and become engaged. Here are some top-level stats from the report >The percentage of people with six or more close friends declined by 20 percentage points from 2013 to 2018 and a further nine points from 2018 to 2022. >The volunteer rate fell from 37% to 25% between 2018 and 2022, while the donation rate slipped from 75% to 63%, leading to a loss of about 300,000 donors and 300,0000 volunteers. #Toronto #civicengagement #torontofoundation #volunteering #commuity #thesix Read the full report here:

When we talk about a context or an organization And on your motives and goals. there It explores many of the interests of humanity and there is the question of what practical issues are related to the context of social services and the problems of the nations in which human think tanks operate. And their organizational structures are different It's a big deal. Organizations that call themselves think tanks include large consulting firms and for-profit programs, or not-for-profits university research centers operate, international and national and UN bodies The United Nations is working, public policy bodies are working, advocacy organizations are working, membership-based associations are working, People's organizations work, expert forums, and many other things work for the human race. 🎎

As a Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund), we are able to partner with banks to provide capital not only to for-profit businesses, but also to nonprofit agencies. This video from Pinnacle Financial Partners shows an example of the positive impacts these partnerships can have upon a community. #banking #communitybanking #cdfi #economicdevelopment
We want to thank Pinnacle Financial Partners (PNFP) for supporting us in our role as a Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) . As a CDFI, our mission goals include promoting community development, and one of the ways to accomplish this is by providing capital to programs that positively impact their local community. In our hometown, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Chattanooga, is one of those programs. Through our partnership with PNFP, we were able to provide capital to support the expansion of this program’s facility. The completed renovation provides a learning lab, training room, an outdoor space for program participants, and more offices to accommodate a growing staff. #CDFI #banking #communitydevelopment #nonprofit #economicdevelopment

Community arts funding is essential!
A really concerning vote is happening on Thursday. After cancelling the funding for the Public Art Program, now there is a vote to cut funding to community grant recipients. Of particular importance (to me and many others), is Art City; a wildly important and necessary organization. These community organizations are what makes our city better, and provide children the opportunity to access a safe space and creative outlets. Sharing this here so if you feel as passionate about this organization as I know many colleagues already do, find a way to show support. Winnipeg can’t afford to lose this space. 🖼️🌇

Thanks for having me Shoutout Miami! I love this part specifically about what they're doing: "We think meaningful conversations are at the heart of community building. We also think every voice matters and that these conversations shouldn’t be led by billionaires, media elites, or celebrities. We feel it’s far more relevant to hear from the folks who make up the fabric of our communities – small business owners, mom-and-pops, and independent artists and creatives." This is a great example of a venture designed to be a part of helping people see, know and hear each other. It can be a bridge that links together cities, communities, businesses, nonprofits, neighborhoods, and people. Do you see this happening in your circles and if so, where and how? https://lnkd.in/eSxZsJV6
