An August Challenge for you🚴🏽♀️ You can either walk, run or wheel 31 miles (1 mile per day) in August. For wheelchair users, you can use your wheelchair or an adaptive cycle🤗 We know that 31 miles is a big ask for anyone, that’s why there’s plenty of flexibility in this challenge, as we’ve tried to make it as accessible as possible. You decide how you reach your mileage💙 Adaptive cycles can be anything from a fixed wheel tricycle, to a handcycle, to an electric assisted wheelchair transporter. This will all depend on an individuals’ circumstance and what they know is achievable for them. Miles can be counted whether it’s a set cycle session or you’re using your wheelchair to commute. You set up a fundraising page, count your miles and get some lovely people to sponsor you for Seashell🥰 Wheels For All are a brilliant organisation that host community sessions you can join, where they have access to cycles like this 🙌🏼 At Seashell, we also have these cycles that you can use on our inclusive cycle track🚴🏽♀️🚴🏼 Once you sign up for the challenge, you can see more information and can join a Facebook group for your specific challenge. Service Dog Education 101! This is private property however, it IS open to the public for baseball events. The question is.. are Service dogs allowed here? ... ... The answer is YES! Even if it's private property Service dogs would be allowed here because it is open to the public for events! This is a theme I see with private property is that staff will state this. This is a common misconception though. Even if it's private property Service Dogs would be allowed without permission *as long as* the event is held open to the public. See what I mean, talking is such a great help so make sure you can off load to someone! People are all about people and people who help other people are great people. So why am I showing you a picture of a squash player? Simple, here is the story. Cleaver Squash Club ib Nuneaton was flooded, as were many businesses and all 4 squash courts were ruined and have to be refloored, a very expensive business, yes there was some insurance but not enough due to the flood risk. This is where people show up, There was some media coverage which alerted Kenilworth Squash Club and they decided to put on a fund raiser for Cleaver with three exhibition matches and they sold out, such was the level of support. Alicia Mead, pictured learned to play at Cleaver and she is now ranked 58th in the world, she gave her time to play an exhibition match with local upcoming star Miriam Eissa. These people gave their time and money to help, I gave my time and photographs to help and over 2k was raised on the night. This is people at their best, businesses and companies can learn a lot, did you know that 90% of businesses in this country do not have any form of employee recognition in place? Think how much happier people are when they feel valued? I know how great the people at Cleaver squash feel knowing they have help.
