https://lnkd.in/eqnXw5Ze Intermediate levels of care are so critical! Many youth need more than what outpatient services can offer, and others need the right "step down" service following discharge from inpatient and other higher levels of care. That's where intermediate services come in! This new CHDI report offers recommendations for improving center-based intermediate levels of care. Improving access and quality at intermediate levels of care will help youth and families, and improve overall system functioning. Huge shout out to the report's authors: CHDI's Aleece Kelly and Jason Lang, and Amber Childs at Yale School of Medicine.

Meet Julia Scales of New Horizons, one of many VHCF funded therapists. "Before Julia, the backlog of children needing outpatient behavioral healthcare was bad and the shortage of licensed therapists made it almost impossible to hire someone. Bringing in Julia as a pre-licensee sped her development as a therapist and trained her in our integrated health care model. It also showed her what she could achieve if she stayed. And she did! A win for her, for New Horizons Healthcare, and for those children.” -~David Gofman, LPC Learn more about our work to increase access to behavioral health across the state: https://lnkd.in/eCieG7nD

This is a loaded question 💥 Research shows that early intervention is key, however some parents believe that 40 hours a week is excessive for their child. Many add that 40 hours of ABA can be overwhelming when they have to fit in ⏩️Speech Therapy ⏩️Occupational Therapy ⏩️Other therapies, and of course ⏩️Family time Your BCBA will make a clinic recommendation based on your child’s results, however - you do have a say. 🗣️Discuss your concerns with your clinical team and find a schedule that works for you and your child. #aba #asd #autismparenting #autismadvocate #autismawareness
