We have recently completed training sessions for cyber cafe owners in various project locations(Nairobi, Kisumu and Kilifi). The reason behind this initiative is that these cafes serve as more than just gaming centers –Cyber cafes can serve as entry points to online risks for children. If trained , educated owners have the ability to recognize concerning behaviour, such as children viewing inappropriate content or engaging with strangers on the internet. The Training also equips owners to report potential instances of online child sexual abuse or grooming behaviour to the appropriate authorities. This proactive approach can prevent abuse from escalating. With knowledge of online dangers, cafe owners can introduce protective measures such as filtering software or setting time limits on unsupervised usage, fostering a secure online environment for children. #keepingchildrensafe #onlinesafetyforchildren #capacitybuilding Muluki Munga'la Christoncia Okoth
