Not being believed, living in loneliness, enduring excruciating pain, and facing black fear; losing a job; feeling tired, even exhausted; and dealing with infertility. These are some of the common experiences that millions of women cope with every single day worldwide. Please take some time to watch this touching film and get to know #endometriosis. It could be your wife, sister, coworker, or even you. Despite the fact that at least 1 in 9 women suffer from it, it typically takes 7-10 years to receive a diagnosis, and treatments are still limited and expensive. The impact on people's lives, businesses, and society is enormous. This war on women's bodies must come to an end. #wef #endometriosis #endometriosisawareness #healthcare #wellbeing

Having worked as as a Senior Leader / Manager in Women’s Health, I am aware of how debilitating this condition is. However, as the post below suggests, the condition is not widely understood and recognised. In addition, the impact of Covid-19 and junior doctor strikes on elective lists has resulted in women having to wait far too long for their procedures. This condition not only impacts women, but also impacts emergency care, as women present in pain and with other symptoms; the economic impact is also palpable. #endometriosisawareness #nhsengland #womenshealth #womenshealthmatters

Yet to speak to a woman with endometriosis that hasn’t had a struggle and huge delays in diagnosis. It’s become more mainstream and more people are talking about it. How do you go from here to a situation where there’s a quicker diagnosis, instead of the current method of ruling everything else out first because endo’s costly to detect? How do we go from here to a situation where serious money is spent on finding a practical treatment, cure, and prevention, instead of the current method of “well that’s one of the downsides of being a woman, try not thinking about it, try changing your diet, just get some rest, we can do a hysterectomy….”? Time to get serious about finding an effective treatment and cure for endometriosis
