For too long, men have faced societal pressures to "man up" and hide their emotions. It's past time to break that cycle. In honor of Men’s Mental Health Month, let's encourage our brothers, fathers, sons, husbands, and friends to speak up and prioritize their mental well-being. 🔹 Start the Conversation: It's okay not to be okay. Create safe, judgment-free zones where men feel comfortable sharing their struggles. Sometimes, just listening can make all the difference. 🔹 Promote Healthy Habits: From exercise and hobbies to mindfulness and relaxation techniques, let's prioritize activities that boost mental health. Small changes can make a big impact. 🔹 Support Professional Help: Normalize seeking therapy and counseling. Reaching out to a mental health professional is a sign of strength, not weakness. Let's make it as common as visiting the doctor for a physical check-up. 🔹 Lead by Example: If you're in a leadership position, be vocal about mental health. Your openness can inspire others and create a ripple effect of change. If you find yourself struggling, please don’t hesitate to reach out or visit https://lnkd.in/g5DJ68VH for resources. #MensMentalHealthMonth #BreakTheStigma #MentalHealthMatters

As a trainee counsellor, having been practicing for few months now, I have realized how different the world of counselling is as compare to what we are taught and what actually happens during a session. Few of the things I have realised are: 1. Prior to picking up all our counselling skills and heading into a session, we need to pay attention to our skills as humans first and foremost. Before becoming counsellors or therapists or mental health professionals, we are human. 2. It is okay to not know what to say next in the session, sometimes just being there, is all the client need. There is a chance that she or he might not be paying attention to every word as much as we do. 3. I've come to understand that not every session carries the same level of intrigue; factors like the client's mood, an early lunch, surrounding noise, or simply the monotony of the day can contribute to variations in the session's dynamics. As I am still continuing my journey as a traniee counsellor, I am getting to know about who I am as a counsellor and who I want to be. #counsellingpsychology #sessions #trainee #therapy #therapist

Exploring the Foundations of Counseling: A Journey of Insights My recent course on counseling has not only challenged my previous understanding but also unveiled new ways to approach mental wellness in professional settings. Key Learnings: 1. Introduction to Counseling We began with the fundamentals, understanding the core principles and goals of counseling. It was enlightening to learn about the significant impact effective counseling can have on individual well-being. 2. Formats of Counseling The course covered various formats, including individual, group, and family counseling. I learned how different settings can influence the counseling process and outcomes. 3. Rapport Formation Building a strong rapport with clients is crucial. We practiced techniques to create trust and understanding, which are essential for effective counseling. 4. Therapeutic Relationship We delved into the dynamics of the therapeutic relationship, which forms the foundation for successful therapy. Understanding these dynamics was fascinating and insightful. 5. Termination Learned about the often-overlooked process of termination in counseling. Understanding how to properly conclude a counseling relationship is vital for client growth and closure. 6. Personality Assessment Conducted a personality assessment, providing insights into various personality types and how they influence behavior and counseling approaches. 7. Anxiety Questionnaire We explored tools for assessing anxiety, learning how to use questionnaires to better understand and address client anxiety levels. Personal Reflection: These classes have not only enriched my understanding of counseling but have also equipped me with practical approaches that I can foresee applying in my future career in clinical psychology. The blend of theory and hands-on practice has been invaluable. Thanks to Socially Souled and Professor Spreeha Bezbaruah for an insightful learning experience. #Counseling #MentalHealth #StudentLife #ProfessionalDevelopment

🧐 You are never too old to learn new skills! 🏅Over the past 18 months, I’ve been training and studying for my CPCAB qualification in Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills. As someone who has worked in recruitment for over 20 years, I know firsthand how mentally challenging the role can be. Mental health is often not talked about enough in the workplace and I want to change that and be able to support others who may be struggling. 🏁 This journey has been an eye-opener. I’ve learned so much about myself and how I can improve my approach to supporting other people. My perspective on life and how I engage with those around me has truly changed for the better. ❤️ We all go through good and bad times & the difference is the people we are surrounded by & the help, support & nurture we get. 🏆 No matter where you are in your career, there’s always room for growth. I want to keep the conversation around mental health in recruitment going and to continue to learn how we can better support one another! #MentalHealth #ContinuousLearning #CounsellingSkills #Recruitment
