The company was founded in 2021 by a group of visionary founders with deep technical expertise and a shared mission. NeoCarbon raises €3.2M in seed funding to develop its first full-scale unit that removes C02 from the atmosphere. The Berlin-based Direct Air Capture (DAC) startup retrofits existing industrial sites to remove carbon dioxide from the air, drastically cutting capital and operational costs associated with DAC and encouraging mass-market adoption. NeoCarbon implemented the first fully autonomous demonstrator in Spring 2023 and is now finalizing rollouts of a second-generation system on a customer’s site by Q1 2024. Existing investors Chalmers Ventures and Gladium were joined by new backers Butterfly Ventures, NextSTEP, GOKAP Invest, and HOLDING 5J.
