In our modern office, it’s not uncommon for conflict to arise. Whether by clashing personalities or the competitive corporate ladder. A leader seeks to unite and pose questions that solicit truth while seeing that the issues don’t fester and grow. Using strategic question-asking as a leadership framework is rooted in biblical principles. This is why, ultimately, the model of leading with questions calls for leaders to demonstrate their commitment to creating a culture of respect and accountability within the workplace. Embracing Solitude: A Crucial Element in Leadership Development in a Hyperconnected World In a world that often glorifies extroversion and constant connectivity, it's easy to overlook the power of solitude in shaping true leadership. William Deresiewicz's compelling essay (ref: https://lnkd.in/gDJmTxkV) sheds light on this crucial aspect. Leadership isn't about flashy titles or conforming to organizational norms. It's about cultivating critical thinking, self-awareness, and moral courage to act. These qualities don't flourish amidst the noise of constant interaction but in the quiet moments of introspection. Deresiewicz advocates for a paradigm shift – viewing solitude not as isolation but as a catalyst for leadership growth. Alone time allows us to delve deeply into our thoughts, values, and goals without external distractions. It's in this solitude that we develop the clarity and conviction to lead authentically. In summary, leadership is not defined by being visible and charismatic; instead, it revolves around solitude. #LeadershipDevelopment #Solitude #AuthenticLeadership #SelfReflection

Few figures hold as much influence and potential for positive change in life's journey as great teachers and leaders. They can shape minds, instil confidence, and inspire greatness in those they guide. Numerous accomplished individuals credit their success to the guidance and mentorship of exceptional leaders, managers, and teachers from their past. An example is Ian Wright, the ex-Arsenal F.C footballer, who vividly recalls the impact of such a mentor in his life. In a heartwarming reunion, Ian met with Sydney Pigden, a teacher who believed in him during his school days. Mr Pigden's influence went beyond the academic realm, as he recognised Ian's potential and sought to bring out the best in him. Wright described the teacher entrusting him with responsibilities, such as collecting registers and serving as the milk monitor. These seemingly simple tasks gave Ian a sense of importance and purpose. However, it wasn't just about assigning duties; Mr Pigden understood the connection between personal development and academic progress. By linking Ian's behaviour in the classroom to his participation in football, Mr Pigden motivated him to excel in both areas. Ian's writing skills improved, and he began appreciating the value of discipline and focus. Reflecting on personal experiences, many of us can recall instances where a teacher or leader played a pivotal role in our lives. Whether it was a boss who believed in our potential, a guide who encouraged our passions, or a leader who inspired us to reach new heights, these individuals leave an indelible mark on our journeys. POLITICS COME AND GO BUT LEADERSHIP CONTINUES Leadership whether at the apex or grassroot is important for the growth and advancement of the goals of an organisation. It requires purpose, dedication, Consistency , teachability;integrity and resilience. Most times people get overshadowed by politics forgetting that politics come and go yet leadership and good governance is a continuous process. The role of a leader, be it political, religious, academic and so on requires but not limited to purpose, dedication, integrity, consistency and teachability. I'll be sharing three defining phases of Leadership 1. Slave stage : This is not slave in every literal sense. At this stage, the person is a leader in the bud and is expected to serve and discharge his duties boss/ mentor/ master diligently in humility. A common feature of this stage is "Pleasing " 2. Servant: At this stage the aspiring leader is exposed to sensitive information documents yet is expected to stay true to his duties and act honestly towards his boss/master/mentor. The promotion to the sonship phase is dependent on how well you prove your relevance. 3. Sonship: In this phase the workload will reduce yet you will be called in to deliver important assignment and serve as a representative or ambassador. This stage comes with privileges and immunities and is quite tempting as pride and irresponsibility may set in. Endeavour to remain diligent and humble in service. It is undeniable that leadership is quite onerous and one must endeavour to understand and patiently pass through different phases of leadership in order to appreciate the journey. This will go along way to refine and sharpen one's leadership skills. On this note, as a leader: 📌 Be patient 📌 Get educated 📌 Gain valuable experience 📌 Be purposeful and have direction 📌 Have Integrity and good antecedents 📌 Get a mentor 📌 Be spiritual #leadershipskills #Leadershipsuccess #Personaldevelopment #Careerdevelopment
