The North Korean cybercriminal group known as Lazarus has executed a series of highly effective thefts, pilfering nearly $300 million in #cryptocurrencies in five recent attacks on various platforms. Their most recent heist targeted the CoinEx exchange on September 12, followed by an attack on Remitano. In total, Lazarus has absconded with approximately $292 million in three months. The attacks primarily focused on centralized exchanges, with an emphasis on social engineering due to the higher number of employees compared to decentralized exchanges. Overall, it is estimated that Lazarus has stolen over $2.7 billion in cryptocurrencies since 2009. This underscores the critical importance of security and the tools necessary to contain such attacks, ensuring users the #security they deserve.
