Pooling expertise, utilizing synergies – Integration of the Microdisplays and Sensors business unit of Fraunhofer FEP into Fraunhofer IPMS The business unit "Microdisplays & Sensors" of Fraunhofer FEP will be integrated into Fraunhofer IPMS as of January 1, 2024. Over the past ten years, the Microdisplays & Sensors business unit has developed into a globally successful and established player operating within the Fraunhofer FEP. The bundling of competencies and the simplified structures result in synergies that strengthen the research field, ensure faster further development and thus benefit customers and partners. The change allows the Fraunhofer FEP, as a process-oriented institute, to focus even more strongly on its expertise in electron beam and plasma technology. This transfer provides technological solutions for the growing demand for solutions for energy and sustainability as well as life science and environmental technologies for industry and society now and in the future. The 245th ECS Meeting #ECS245 is bringing together the most esteemed scientists, engineers, and researchers to discuss and showcase the latest technological advances and the state of the science. #Matteco presented the results of its research in the field of conventional alkaline electrolysis and anion exchange membrane electrolysis during a session entitled 'Accelerated Three Electrode Cell (TEC) Testing for Optimizing Electrodes in Conventional Alkaline Electrolysis and Anion Exchange Membrane Water Electrolysis'. Vicent Lloret Segura, our project manager, demonstrated the remarkable performance achieved in electrode optimization tests through the use of PGM-free, Matteco Proprietary Coating Technique (MPCT) for anodes and cathodes. A joint effort with Gonzalo Abellán Sáez, our co-founder and CTO, and Alvaro Seijas Da Silva, that received a positive response at the international conference. The Fraunhofer ILT is looking for industrial #partners and companies for this purpose. 🤝 The first step is to define a #roadmap for the needs of the market. Subsequently, current research and development topics relating to laser processes for #fuelcells and #electrolyzers will be discussed and new research alliances will be formed. The focus will be on the entire #processchain. However, topics outside of photonics or hydrogen will also be considered. In 1991, Andrey Kostyukov joined Dynamics Scientific Production Center, LLC, in Omsk, Russia. Graduating from Omsk State University, he achieved a significant feat by earning a PhD in Reliability Management, with a dissertation titled "Organizational and economic mechanism of equipment operation under real-time state monitoring." By 2015, he became CEO and Board member of Dynamics SPC, LLC. In 2016, he founded Dynamics Scientific, Inc., based in Texas. Assuming the role of President and CEO of Dynamics Scientific, Inc., he relocated to Houston, TX. He obtained two US patents for real-time machinery diagnostics, and soon enough received HP Awards for COMPACS system's exceptional AR/VR/AI Technology. Currently, his contributions encompass a book, 108 articles, and industry conference theses. Finding a fault in an electric motor is not always easy. However, its effective diagnosis can be facilitated by utilizing new mathematical algorithms with parametric estimation 🧮 Brno PhD Talent Lukáš Zezula has designed the diagnostic algorithms for short circuits in one of the phase windings of the electric motor and tested them on a workplace with an experimental motor and dynamometer, which is part of the RICAIP - Research and Innovation Centre on Advanced Industrial Production Testbed Brno at CEITEC - Central European Institute of Technology Vysoké učení technické v Brně 🦾 "Currently, I am examining short circuits between turns in one winding, but this can be expanded to short circuits between phases as well.
