In my view, IoTs(Consumer, Industrial and Commercial) integrated with Adaptive Artificial Intelligence will help automate the simplest to complex processes while learning from the environment without much intervention. Thus improving efficiency and simultaneously being predictive to make people’s lives better. #TechSpotlight #HavellsCRI #Havells #IoTs #AI #Technology

🚀 Unlocking potential: Empowering young minds with strategies to turn scientific breakthroughs into market success! Join us as we revisit last year's Science Summit within the Sciencepreneurs Forum at the SPRIND Sciencepreneurship Symposium. Today, we share insights from the panel on 'Talent Development Systems for Deep Tech Innovations' featuring experts like Dr. Thane Campbell (Deep Science Ventures), Juliana Lim (SGInnovate), Alessandro Grillini (Reyedar) and Lisa Ericsson (KTH Innovation). Explore creative methods for assisting young researchers in launching and scaling ventures, encompassing the development of diverse and future-proof competencies. Consider, for instance, the concept of cultivating such competencies. This extends beyond conventional STEM skills, emphasising the refinement of soft skills and embracing an 'M-shaped' approach. This approach involves delving into multiple areas to acquire a comprehensive and well-rounded skill set. Check out the graphic recording for a visual journey and don't miss the insightful discussion – watch the recorded video here: https://bit.ly/48YXhO7 📹. Stay tuned as we unravel key takeaways from thought leaders, policymakers, and industry experts on accelerating innovation ecosystems! 🙌 Grateful to our main partner, SPRIND - Bundesagentur für Sprunginnovationen and to Gabriele Heinzel for the graphic recordings of the panels. #FallingWalls #Sciencepreneurship #TalentDevelopment #ScienceInnovation #FutureLeaders

I was invited to celebrate the iCapital award this week! I talked about brave customers paving the way for new innovations and also brave investors supporting hardware companies scaling up and investing in equipment, facility (cleanroom) and automation. You need to be brave and also patient to understand that scaling up hardware is different from scaling up software. You can see my part of the discussion about 30 minutes in the movie. https://lnkd.in/ddGkKGJR What is your experience? Going from start up, scale up all the way to be a profitable company, I see a gap in investors and support, do you agree? Epishine, #sustainability, #innovation

UNIC Core Concepts: What is Engaged Research? 🌍 Engaged Research is at the heart of the UNIC4ER project, aiming to co-create knowledge with society to tackle pressing challenges. Engaged research offers a trans-disciplinary approach and method for systematic knowledge production not only for society but also with and within society. It requires a process of "boundary crossing," where academia steps outside its customary domains. What does that look like? Take a look at UNIC's Open Case Repository to see examples of Engaged Research in action, from unique collaborative approaches and community-building to addressing issues of public concern. Explore the principles and benefits of Engaged Research by diving into its practice and implementation! https://lnkd.in/etEkjWdy Find out more about Engaged Research and the UNIC4ER programme here: https://lnkd.in/epAvDqGm #EngagedResearch #SocietalImpact

Join us in reflecting on the transformative discussions held at the Sciencepreneurs Forum during the SPRIND Sciencepreneurship Symposium at #ScienceSummit23! The expert panel, featuring Allison Duettmann from the Foresight Institute, Darja Isaakson from Vinnova, Mario Brandenburg from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany, and Frank Buchholz from Technische Universität Dresden, delved into the pivotal role of an entrepreneurial mindset in policymaking and its profound impact on nurturing a supportive ecosystem for #sciencepreneurship. The panelists explored effective policies that catalyse cultural shifts, making sciencepreneurship more attractive, sustainable, and impactful. 👉 For instance, policies that condition funding on ambitious goals incentivise researchers and entrepreneurs to pursue high-impact endeavours. Moreover, agile policies, responsive to the dynamic nature of sciencepreneurship, can reduce bureaucratic hurdles, expediting research proposal evaluation and funding approval, thus accelerating innovative ideas to fruition. 🎥 To delve deeper into policies fostering innovation, diversity, and collaboration, watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/dZ_9ZX4e Thank you to our main partner, SPRIND - Bundesagentur für Sprunginnovationen, who cohosted the event and to Gabriele Heinzel for capturing the essence of the discussions through graphic recordings. Let's continue shaping a future where sciencepreneurship thrives! 🚀 #FallingWalls #FallingWallsCircle #SciencePolicy #EntrepreneurialScience #PolicyImpact

I want to talk to you about Viagra for a moment... Part of the Cambridge Future Tech mission is to turn unloved and overlooked deep-tech innovation into disruptive global ventures. What better example of a world-changing innovation that could have easily ended up on the cutting room floor than that of the little blue pill. Over twenty years ago, a medical laboratory stumbled upon an opportunity which happened to *ahem* present itself. Whilst lab testing a new drug designed to treat cardiovascular problems, some volunteers appeared curiously reluctant to report any changes – some flatly refused. When questioned, they coyly admitted to experiencing unexpected benefits in other parts of their anatomy. The research team refocused their goals and discovered that the test drug got hearts racing in a very different sense. Their adaptation to this market feedback would kick-start a global innovation success and would result in bringing in tens of billions in revenue. It was the perfect combination of scientific rigour with commercial common sense. This was the Viagra moment. But what will be the next? #deeptech #innovation

The Power of Connecting Minds in Circular Economy ♻ 🧠 Throughout history, cafes and restaurants have been vibrant hubs for intellectuals and researchers to gather, share ideas, and engage in lively debates. These informal settings, often referred to as 'Penny Universities,' reflect a unique societal exchange where individuals from diverse backgrounds come together to share knowledge and perspectives. 🌟 Last Thursday marked the kickoff event for CirculaTUM Connect, designed to continue igniting the spark of innovation and exchange in science and fostering interdisciplinary exchange among PhD students and PostDocs within CirculaTUM. 🌱 This event provided a platform to discuss ongoing projects, connect with peers, and spark new ideas. It was also an opportunity to stay updated on Circular Economy initiatives at TUM. The enthusiastic participation and feedback highlight the importance of knowledge sharing and networking beyond the usual circle. We're thrilled about the positive response and look forward to future exchange and networking events, as they continue to nurture the spirit of Penny Universities amongst our young researchers. Thank you Dr. Timo Böttcher, Robert Burkhardt, Leah Dinter, Carolin Escherich, Kim Krüger, Niclas-Alexander Mauss, Kristina Mazur, Moritz Seidenfus, Lucia Lara, Tobias Weckenmann for being part of this inspiring exchange of ideas. #CircularEconomy #Interdisciplinary #Research #Networking Johannes Fottner | Magnus Fröhling | Ann-Christin K. | Vanessa Heinrich | Merve Emir
