As 3D models (Organoid/Spheroid) represent an interesting cutting-edge technology in different research fields, we attended the OuestOÏD Colloquium that was held in Rennes on Thursday 4 April. In this seminar, different communications presented novel approaches and different methodologies used to study various cell types in 3D models. Acknowledgements to OuestOÏD and Biogenouest for this interesting day! #3Dmodels #Organiods #Spheriods #Biogenouest #Biotechnology #CellTechnology #inVitroMethodologies

We are super excited for our panel at this year’s SynBioBeta with the title “Creating new Biomanufacturing Opportunities by Optimizing Cell-to-Cell Variations in Bioreactors”. Here, our co-founder and CSO, Peter Rugbjerg, will join leading industry and academic innovators to discuss the challenge and opportunity to enable success when scaling new bioprocesses by optimizing cell-to-cell variations. Peter Rugbjerg highlights “Cellular variation is an industry-wide opportunity in biomanufacturing where leading companies have worked for a long time to make the rarer high-producer cells the “normal” cells. At Enduro, we believe that broad SynBio tools such as Enduro Sense offer an opportunity to generate more value in biomanufacturing processes and we look forward to discussing this opportunity.” We are looking forward to meeting up with current and future partners during SynBioBeta and to seeing everyone interested in the topic at the session. #Biomanufacturing #bioprocesses #fermentation #bioproductionatscale #bioproduction #syntheticbiology #SynbioBeta2024 #bioeconomy

📰 Publication Alert! ⚗ Mix #biobased #lactic acid and #thiolactic acid with a suitable Brønsted acid catalyst, and the result is a novel #monomer for the #bioplastics industry: monothiolactide (OS), composed of half a lactide (OO) unit and half a thiolactide (SS) unit. This new monomer and its #polymer combine the benefits of esters and thiolesters, highlighting superior #chemical #recycling ♻ and hydrolytic degradation properties compared to #polylactide and #polythiolactide. 🤝This work is a joint effort between the Dusselier Lab at KU Leuven and the University of Lorraine. Warm congratulations to our colleagues An Sofie Narmon, Liliana Jenisch, Ibrahim Khalil, Michiel Dusselier, and collaborators Jérôme Rey and Michael Badawi. Credits go to Gleb Ivanushkin for the conception of the lovely graphical abstract. Thanks! With, among others, a shout out to B4Plastics, VLAIO - Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and Research Foundation Flanders - FWO for their funding of this work! Here is our latest pre-print focusing on the scaled up enzymatic synthesis of 2'deoxy nucleoside analogues. We explore the reaction scope of nucleoside transglycosylase II and demonstrate the scalability of the process to prepare high value nucleoside building blocks. We also establish a structural basis of the mechanism of transglycosylation which proceeds via covalent catalysis. This was collaborative work with Gideon Grogan and Alex Ascham (York), and Admir Salihovic Andrea Taladriz Sender and Paul Hoskisson Strathclyde Faculty of Science Work was funded by BBSRC The Leverhulme Trust #chemicalbiology #oligonucleotide #biocatalysis
