👋 In honor of #BlackHistoryMonth, I want to shine a spotlight on an incredible African American engineer who deserves more recognition. 🌟 Meet Granville T. Woods, a true trailblazer in the world of engineering! 🚀 Born in 1856, Woods overcame numerous obstacles to become one of the most influential inventors of his time. His innovative mind and determination paved the way for future generations. You might not have heard of Woods, but his contributions were groundbreaking. He held more than 60 patents in his lifetime, focusing on electrical and mechanical inventions that revolutionized the railroad and transportation industries. 🚂 One of Woods’ most notable inventions was the “telegraphony,” a device that allowed voice communication between trains and train stations. 📞 This invention greatly improved safety and efficiency in the railroad system, making travel safer for everyone. But Woods didn’t stop there! He also developed the multiplex telegraph, which allowed multiple messages to be sent simultaneously over a single wire. 📡 This invention laid the foundation for modern-day telecommunications systems. Woods’ impact on engineering and technology cannot be overstated. His brilliance and perseverance continue to inspire us today. Let’s celebrate his achievements and ensure his legacy lives on! 🎉 So, let’s take a moment to honor Granville T. Woods. Let’s continue to uplift and celebrate the achievements of African American engineers and inventors. Hi, I wanted to take a moment to remind you about my candidacy for the Board of the European Implementation Collaborative (EIC). I am looking forward to standing for this position in an organisation that's driving positive change in implementation science across Europe. The EIC is all about making ideas a reality, connecting researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to bridge the gap between research and practice. As a reminder, if I elected, I would like to see a focus on  : ·        Fostering greater international collaboration through increased reach to share best practices, lessons learned, and emerging research in implementation science/practice. ·        Advocating for approaches that promote the translation of research into practice and action. ·        Strengthening the EIC's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that underrepresented voices are heard and valued. ·        Promoting a trans-disciplinary approach to implementation that draws on research from other academic fields. She is therefore a candidate in the 2024 UIPE presidential race. she is seeking the opportunity to offer us a visionary, purposeful, competent leadership to build our future.
