Employee Spotlight⭐ Heather, RN is a Clinic Nurse at our Beulah Clinic and has been working for CCCHC for 3 years! In her spare time, Heather enjoys chasing after her little boys, lake days on the pontoon, time with family and friends, and spending time at the farm. Her favorite food is anything with pasta and potatoes and Littles in Pick City is her favorite restaurant! When asked what she loves about her job, Heather said: "Being able to help our patients feel better and ensuring they are taken care of. Also, seeing all the little babies!😊"

Jake Croft, an assistant nurse manager in the emergency department at St. Luke’s Boise Medical Center, recently received an Everyday Angel honor. A colleague of Croft recently transferred to another unit in the health system and wanted to recognize him for his leadership, caring approach and mentorship, said Traci McGregor, nursing manager. The colleague “learned a lot from him and recognized that he made the workplace a better place,” McGregor said. “She wanted to express her gratitude for all he did for team and her specifically.”

You never know what connection you’ll make. This beautiful nurse Ashley Moore Gibbs was a HF navigator when I was a brand new baby HF nurse. I started on a HF unit where she worked for a long time in Charlotte, NC. We never worked together directly but I knew who she was— an advocate, a learner, a leader and she had a passion for patients. Fast forward to 2019, Ashley’s the assistant director of the APP fellow program at Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute and we magically get linked up via a research fellowship I applied for on a whim as a bedside nurse. She has become a mentor, friend and continues to be an inspiration to me. I’m grateful for our serendipitous connection and friendship and happy to be a part of AAHFN, in part, because of her :) The lesson: make connections, break out of your comfort zone and do hard things— you never know what beauty awaits!
