A big thank you to The Lee Company for giving college interns across the state, along with the CCAT team, an inside look into the world of manufacturing. 👀 Our visit to their Westbrook facility was eye-opening as we heard from Jeffrey Dickey and team members from operations, engineering, and human resources. We learned about their impressive 75 year journey in pioneering the development of miniature precision fluid control components for aerospace, down-hole oil tools, machine tools, medical/scientific instrumentation, and ink-jet printing. 🌟 The highlight of our visit was a tour led by former president Leighton Lee III of their on-site Museum of Early Engineering Technology. With over 1,000 artifacts, the museum showcases the company's significant impact on the aerospace industry and space travel, illustrating the remarkable #technology advancements in manufacturing processes over time. 🤝 We extend our gratitude to the college interns who joined us and to The Lee Company for their active involvement in Connecticut’s Manufacturing Internship Program. Together, they are inspiring the #nextgeneration and raising awareness about the vital role of the manufacturing industry. #intern #internship #innovation #manufacturing #workforceofthefuture Connecticut Office of Manufacturing
