"McManus leaves CBS with all its critical properties locked up long-term. In addition to the NFL and March Madness, the NWSL goes through 2027, the Big Ten and UEFA Champions League rights run through the 2029-30 season, while the PGA Tour and PGA Championship deals don’t expire until 2030." https://lnkd.in/e6RCVicG
I worked with Sean at IMG in the late 80s when I was in my early 20's. Whenever I see him at the March of Dimes lunch or industry events, he's as gracious and friendly as can be. I was just a finance guy in Cleveland and he was cutting big deals with Barry Frank.
Go Duke💙
Sean: all best wishes to you going forward! I still recall the adventuresome days in the early 1980’s when you would call and ask what is the best weightlifting event for NbC Sports to cover the following year. You would then purchase the rights to such classics as The Pannonia Cup held in Budapest, Hungary (Producer Ginny Seiot) or The Friendship Cup in Odessa, Ukraine (Producer David Neal). That would in turn create an on-air announcing opportunity for me and in some very unique and memorable locations. Grest memories! Many thanks! 🏋️♂️
When I was at CBS, I was lucky enough to work on the Masters, Final Four, NCAA Meetings and other sporting events. I would ask Sean alot of questions and ask to sit in on meetings that had nothing to do with my job. He was always welcome and never made me feel like I was a pain or not worth his time. I hope he thoroughly enjoys the many years ahead!!
What an incredible job and legacy to leave behind congratulations
