With effective reduction in funding will things stagnate till after next election?
I was at PCN plus event in Nottingham.
Even I retired from practice 3.5 years ago it was like ground hog day.
Still The key is "Relationships"!, trust (or lack of it). Lot of focus on contracts finance, leadership, teams.
What was missing- was discussion on mission vision purpose. Unifying effort behind this agreed strategy with all. Population health was mentioned twice by audience member in a question. Who is doing something really different? Who is focusing on patient outcomes and satisfaction? If you get this right you could reduce demand significantly (and improve profitability).
Are there solutions out there that can do more within same financial envelope with improved outcomes, reduce demand, great patient feedback, superb engagement using simple science we learned as medical students?

Our non executive director Dr Edward Bosonnet is at the two day Primary Care Partnership Network (PCPN) in London. This event brings together 150 multidisciplinary leaders from across Primary Care to consider: ‘Working in silos is not an option for primary care leaders who want to build a proactive, customised, and place-based health and care system’.
In this photo Paul Singer – Chief clinical information officer for Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board, Anand Rischie – Medical Director for Walsall Together, Conor Price – Managing Director, Primary Care Analytics, Agnes Kasprowicz - Programme Director at City and Hackney PCNs and Nausheen Harmeed – Clinical Partnerships Lead at Suvera deliver a panel discussion on ‘The importance of a successful Primary Care Network in delivering population health’.
We look forward to sharing some of Ed’s insights and reflections after the event.
What a great approach to sustainable care which will undoubtedly enhance healthcare access by integrating efficient, eco-friendly practices and technologies, reducing costs, and improving care delivery. This approach should ensure long-term health system viability, making quality care more accessible. We witnessed this in metro Atlanta several years back with similar merger’s.
We are excited to announce that the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees approved an agreement for the UAB Health System Authority to assume ownership of Ascension St. Vincent’s Health System’s care sites in Alabama.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine and optimize our collective strengths. Together we will sustain patients’ access to the highest quality care and give them access to a larger network at a time when other hospitals are closing.

In our enlightening conversation, Dr. Sederer shared the powerful motivations behind his pivotal work, 'Caught in the Crosshairs of American Healthcare.'
He illuminated the critical challenges facing our healthcare system today—rising costs, diminishing returns, and a disconcerting trajectory.
Drawing on his firsthand experience as a medical director at a Harvard teaching hospital, he recounted a compelling journey of confronting these very issues head-on and emerging victorious.
His unique perspective, grounded in real-world struggles and triumphs, truly sets the stage for this essential exploration of American healthcare.
