It's #NationalDonutDay! What's your favorite kind of donut? Let us know in the comments. Every year on the first Friday of June, Americans celebrate National Donut Day to honor the Salvation Army Lassies, the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during the First World War to lift their spirits. This tradition began in Chicago in 1938. We "donut" know what we would do without all of our wonderful clients! #GJMAccounting #accountingandaccountants #smallbusiness

🌟 As we approach the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, let’s take a moment to reflect on the true essence of this significant day. This weekend, while many of us will enjoy barbecues, family gatherings, and the unofficial start of summer, it’s vital to remember that Memorial Day is a time to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. It’s a day to pay our respects to those who gave their lives to protect our freedoms and to ensure a peaceful future for all. 💡 Here are a few ways we can honor and remember our fallen heroes: 1. Visit Memorials: Take some time to visit local veterans’ memorials or participate in a community event. 2. Moment of Remembrance: Participate in the National Moment of Remembrance at 3 PM local time, a minute of silence to remember and reflect. 3. Fly the Flag: Raise the American flag at your home or business, adhering to flag etiquette. 4. Support Veterans’ Families: Consider donating to organizations that support the families of fallen soldiers. Let’s use this weekend not just as a break from work, but as an opportunity to commemorate those who have laid down their lives in service to our nation. 🌟 Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert #MemorialDay #HonorAndRemember #Gratitude #NeverForget

Something I’ve learned about myself recently is that it takes a lot of guts to lay the groundwork for what could be a game-changing nonprofit for military families. I’ve found the courage to leap into this entrepreneurial journey, and I’m excited to share it with you. After navigating numerous challenges, I felt a strong desire to help others facing similar struggles. That's how The OCONUS Project was born. Our mission is to empower and support military families living overseas by providing vital resources, fostering community connections, and advocating for their unique needs. To kickstart this initiative, I need to hear from YOU—military spouses and service members who have lived or are currently living overseas. With the help of some fantastic supporters, we’ve crafted a survey to gather essential data that will enhance our mission and strengthen our advocacy efforts. 💥 Take the survey here: https://lnkd.in/gRxG29UB Special shoutout to Beth Conlin, MBA, my newest advisor/mentor! I can't wait to see how we can work together to make the project the best it can be. Also dropping a shoutout to Surinder Goode for the continued support. If this resonates with you and you want to be part of the founding phase, please reach out! We’re looking for individuals with nonprofit or OCONUS experience who are passionate about making a difference. DM me directly—I’d love to connect and collaborate. Let’s make a change together! #MilitarySpouse #OCONUSLiving #Nonprofit #CommunitySupport #Empowerment

Today, as we celebrate Memorial Day, let’s take a moment to reflect on the true essence of this day. → It's not just about barbecues and long weekends. → It's about remembering the brave souls who fought for our freedom. → It's about honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice. A few thoughts on how we can honor our heroes: → Take a moment to remember and honor the fallen soldiers. Their bravery and sacrifice have given us the freedom we enjoy today. → If you know a veteran or someone who has lost a loved one in service, share their stories. Keeping their memory alive is the least we can do. → Find ways to support veterans and their families. This could be through donations, volunteering, or simply lending a listening ear. Let’s not forget: → Freedom isn't free. It comes at a great cost. → Today is a day to remember those who paid that cost with their lives. → Let’s honor them by appreciating the freedoms we have and by striving to make this world a better place in their memory. P.S. - How are you honoring Memorial Day today? #memorialday

#JUNETEENTH "Freedom finally came on June 19, 1865, when some 2,000 Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas. The army announced that the more than 250,000 enslaved black people in the state, were free by executive decree.
