A brand is more than just a name. It's the elements you build around it (such as the identity, strategy, etc.) so it can take on new meanings and build associations with your audience. Take the Yellow Corporation, for instance, the American transportation company that's been in headlines lately. Can anyone guess the color of their logo? Can you recognize them now? Nearly nine years after the telecom company’s last rebrand, Verizon unveiled its newest logo and updated brand system. The brand’s iconic red checkmark is now gone, replaced with a “v” that reminds many netizens of one of the largest streaming giants (cough, cough…Netflix). The last time Verizon rebranded, it faced significant criticism at launch. This refreshed look, however, is apparently a calculated effort to modernize and resonate with today's digital audience.
