I am excited to share that our paper ``COREL: Constrained Reinforcement Learning Algorithm for ABR video streaming algorithm over mmWave 5G" has been accepted at the IEEE CQR workshop. While the traditional (multi-objective) RL-based video streaming algorithm performs well over 4G, the performance is poor (a lot of buffering) over 5G which has higher variability. We show that the main reason is that the algorithm fails to adapt to the change in the 5G throughput. Instead, our constrained RL approach guides the algorithm to adjust the changes in 5G resulting in decreasing the buffering significantly. This is joint work with Xinyue He, Zhi-Li Zhang from UMinn, Xin Liu from UC Davis, and Ness Shroff from OSU.
