Falls are the number one cause of injury in people over 65, and physical and occupational therapists are on the front lines of preventing them. That's why we're spreading the word about the SAFE Act, which the Alliance for Physical Therapy Quality and Innovation introduced to offer free annual fall risk assessments to Medicare patients. Please urge your lawmaker to support this legislation and share the link with your patients, asking them to write letters to their congresspeople: https://webpt.co/2Wu1nvO #ATPQI #SAFEAct #PTAdvocacy #PTs #OTs

📢 CALLING ALL PHYSICAL AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS! 📢 Reps. Don Davis and Lloyd Smucker just introduced the REDUCE Act. If passed, the bipartisan bill would reduce the unnecessary administrative burden on rehab therapy practices by allowing the plan of care to be deemed certified as long as it is submitted to the physician within 30 days. Read more about the REDUCE Act and show your support by submitting the Alliance for Physical Therapy Quality and Innovation's easy-to-use letter template to your members of Congress here: https://webpt.co/2Wu1nvO It takes less than one minute to use your voice to advocate for rehab therapy 👏 #ATPQI #REDUCEAct #PTAdvocacy #PTs #OTs

Did you know that an estimated 30 million elderly Americans fall every year, resulting in $50 billion in annual costs associated with these falls? It's time to take action! The epidemic of senior falls is accelerating, but we have the power to prevent them. Physical and occupational therapists play a crucial role in fall prevention, and bipartisan legislation has been introduced to recognize their immense value. The SAFE Act (H.R. 7618), spearheaded by Representatives Carol Miller (R-WV) and Melanie Stansbury (D-NM), aims to make no-cost fall risk assessments from physical or occupational therapists a part of Medicare beneficiaries' wellness benefits. This legislation is not just about improving access to preventative care; it's about saving lives and reducing dangerous falls among our seniors. But we can't do it alone. We need YOUR help to get this legislation passed! Take action today by sending an email to urge your Member of Congress to support the SAFE Act. Together, we can make a difference and protect our seniors from preventable falls. #SAFEAct #aptqi #seniorcare #fallsprevention #falls #medicare #physicaltherapy #occupationaltherapy #healthcareadvocacy #bipartisan

The concept of “synergy” refers to the phenomenon where cooperation produces results greater than the sum of individual efforts - something that Primary Therapist Tom Baroody, MA, NCC, RN, CCM witnesses first-hand during Group Therapy sessions at Encore. Listen to hear about why group work is sometimes the best part of our day. #recovery #addiction #addictiontreatment #groupwork #grouptherapy

You can't twist the truth to people out here united. Contract Therapy Companies and Therapy Management Companies currently imposing and strictly enforcing productivity requirements on Therapy Assistants (COTAs/PTAs) of above 90% in SNFs are unethical and promote Medicare fraud, waste, and abuse in nursing homes located all across the United States. Being a whistleblower is hard. I am mostly black-listed from the industry, having sacrificed it all to expose this. But I stand by my actions because it's about integrity and standing up for what's right, no matter the cost. Join our grassroots movement today. We are organizing. Our Facebook group is called USA Based OT, PT & SLP Therapists United For Change - We are nearly 3,500 Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapists standing strong against the demands of unethical for-profit healthcare systems in America. Together, we are a force to be reckoned with, dedicated to upholding the integrity of our professions and advocating for ethical practices in healthcare. Join us and be a part of positive change. #IndustryInsights #SaveOccupationalTherapy #SavePhysicalTherapy #SaveSpeechTherapy #SaveOT #SavePT #SaveST Liza Marie Norton, COTA/L [email protected] 305-962-5568
