Today, we commemorate the Day of Brazil’s Indigenous Peoples - custodians of forest wisdom, vital to the ecological restoration cycle. At re.green, we are proud to actively collaborate with indigenous communities, engaging in knowledge exchange across all our initiatives. ⤵️ ▶️ Preserving the Earth: Bioflora and Cooplanjé In Bahia, we have forged strategic partnerships, including one with Cooplanjé, a collective of native seedling producers hailing from the Pataxó Boca da Mata Indigenous village. Through this collaboration, they supply us with high-quality Atlantic Forest seedlings, while we provide invaluable feedback to aid in the enhancement of their seed nursery operations. Our shared objective is to foster entrepreneurship and drive socioeconomic advancement within the local community. ▶️ Custodians of the Forest 🌳 Brazil is home to a vibrant indigenous population of over 1 million individuals, serving as the custodians of our planet's vital forest ecosystems. As we mark Earth Day 2024, we’re proud to share our ambitious SAVE THE BEE - The Parnitha Bee Project, working to regenerate an area that has been devastated by wildfires. In recent years, thousands of acres of Mount Parnitha, an important green lung in the Attica region, have been affected by fires. This ambitious project, in partnership with TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS and NGO Bee for planet, will help to restore the area’s biodiversity in just three years. We have installed 75 beehives at Mount Parnitha, which will be cared for by certified beekeepers. In total, we will reintroduce 1.5 million bees to the area, which will pollinate up to 6.4 billion flowers annually, bringing new life to Attica’s largest mountain, for today and for future generations. #ikosresorts #ikosgreen #savethebee #theparnithabeeproject #beefortheplanet #beeahero #transformingtourismforasustainablefuture #sustainability

The Gran Chaco biome in Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay is home to species such as the jaguar, the giant armadillo and other species. 🐆 But its unique biodiversity is threatened by deforestation and the conversion of land. In Argentina, one of the world’s most important soy and cattle producing countries, around 21,500 hectares of the Chaco is deforested every year. With the SoyChaco project, we have stimulated investments in sustainable production and nature restoration. 🌱 Fundación Vida Silvestre has worked together with a landowner in Juan José Castelli to restore forest that at the same time allows agricultural activities.
