What makes Carta a Great Place to Work? Our employees (aka Cartans), of course. At Carta, our company culture is a top priority and the most defining part of our culture is the people who show up every day and do great work. We’re honored to be recognized as a U.S. Great Place to Work for the second year in a row. 🎉

CEO @ Zerf | Tech-enabling companies in the travel & hospitality industry with tailor-made software.
Our company's culture is based around the famously repeated term by Michael Jordan: Taking it personally. To me, working is not only just something we do to make money or to pass the time we have. Work needs to impact the people we love most. And that impact will create a domino effect and change the lives of hundreds of humans. But we need to start by taking it personally. And for me taking it personal means a multitude of things: - Taking ownership for what we have to do and how we do it - That means giving feedback when someone is slacking off - That means listening to feedback when I'm a off - That means asking for help when I or anyone is feeling lost or demotivated Is all about accountability. But not only in work-related stuff. It also means taking it personal on another level. See, I´ve read that you spend a third of your life working. And for me, every second I'll be working in my company matters. That's why I want to make it fun and exciting. That's why one of the attributes I look out for candidates is a good sense of humor. Because it's personal. And I hope you make it personal too.

I’m a great believer in setting your mission and vision statement. Whether you have a personal goal or a company goal, it’s important to communicate it. Only then can you take identifiable steps towards it. At Fuzzy we truly identify with our values and we will continue to check in on them to make sure they represent who we are. Do you think setting a mission and values help achieve your goals?
At Fuzzy, we are on a mission! We have also adopted VALUEs that we feel represent who we are & are attributes which will fuel our success. We will regularly check in to our values to make sure they stand firm and hold true.

"Best place to work" isn't something you can simply buy as a certificate from agencies to hang on the facility wall, aiming to boost a company's image and rating. It's a genuine sentiment that employees feel and proudly express with honesty. In my experience, Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) stands out as one of the best workplaces for several reasons: - They truly value their team. - Actively listen to employees' ideas, implementing the good ones and developing others to improve. - Appreciate even the smallest efforts. - Provide continuous motivation and encouragement. - Foster a culture of learning and growth. - Adhere to a transparent black and white policy. - Encourage integrity and positivity. - Place leaders who are rightly suited for their positions and you can learn from them. The list could go on and on, and the heartfelt appreciation from colleagues, such as the message I received this morning as shown in the picture the moment I stepped in is priceless. These acts of self-initiative and motivation are just one example among many that RAKEZ staff does for their colleagues. In summary, Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) is, for me, one of the best places to work. Thank you Jamila for the gesture!

When you give a little – you get a lot back! I think sometimes we forget that we are all human. We put our game face on, go to work, do our best, often with work taking priority over all else. But underneath it all we are all just people, trying to do the best we can. And as such we all need to feel valued. We all love recognition for what we do well, and to be rewarded for what we’ve achieved. But at the very least we just want to be treated fairly with respect. And when we are, guess what happens – we work harder, give more, stay loyal and are much happier. I speak to so many candidates who leave roles as they simply do not feel valued, and the thing is it doesn’t take a lot to fix: ✔ Pay people well for what they do ✔ Recognise their achievements, and reward good performance ✔ Meet their hard work, with opportunities to grow and develop ✔ Recognise and respect that they also have lives outside of work And if you give them your time, value their opinion and involve them in decisions where possible. You might just find that you get lots more in return! Anyone relate to this?

Not every day is going to be special. Most days are about navigating through routine tasks or solving unexpected challenges. That's why it's important to recognize and celebrate victories when they do happen. Whether it's a small achievement or a significant milestone, take the time to acknowledge it. Is your company celebrating heroes? Is it admiring the individuals who jump into the fire with courage to save the day? Does the term "extra mile" pop up from time to time? And, on the other hand - is it (equally) admiring the teams that routinely deliver high quality work? Does it find ways to celebrate consistency, clarity, and other not-so-flashy good practices? Find this topic and more in this week's issue: https://lnkd.in/dc57sinH
