Pew Research Center found that even though women contribute as much, or more, to the household financially – they are still providing a disproportionate amount of time to home duties and caregiving, dubbed “the second shift.” 🏠 🧺 And only 18% of the women surveyed in our 2023 State of Women in Wealth Management report said they were “always” able to balance their personal and work obligations. After “crushing” the Bloomberg Brackets for a Cause competition in 2021, besting Bill Ackman, Jenny Johnson convinced the powers that be to also include a competition for the women’s bracket. “I finally said, ‘You guys it’s embarrassing. The world is talking about trying to get more women in asset management and you’re not even covering the women’s bracket, you should add it,’” Johnson said. So they did. And guess what?
