Over the past decade, Asahi Europe & International has cut water consumption to a level which is the best in class. and by 2030, we aim to reach an average consumption in Europe of 2.75 litres of water per litre of beer brewed. To achieve this we're focusing on operational efficiency and investing in cutting-edge technologies. One example is Plzeňský Prazdroj's Radegast Brewery which uses technology to brew beer from water extracted from humidity in the air. Thanks to initiatives like this, the Radegast Brewery has successfully reduced water consumption by more than 40% over the past 15 years. Together, we're working towards a future where clean water is abundant, communities thrive, and great beer is brewed responsibly. #WorldWaterDay #SustainableBrewing #WeAreAsahi

Today is International Beer Day! Among other purposes, it’s specifically meant to unite the world through beer – even across borders. Speaking of beer and borders, did you know that 🍻 8% of the breweries in Bavaria and 5% of those in the Czech Republic are situated within 25km of their shared border, particularly the smaller ones. 🍻 The competition in beer production between Bavaria and the Czech Republic contributes to the economic success of both regions? 🍻 Czech beer is cheaper in Bavaria, due to high concentration in the Czech beer market. If you know of any small-scale cooperations along the Czech-Bavarian border, let us know! This and other findings stem from our latest project funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (2024-2026). Here, Hannah Paul, Tobias Chilla (PI) and I, Carola Sommer, explore small-scale cross-border regional production networks in the food sector.

In our company, everything has a serial number: every log, every bundle of logs and finally every barrel - a precise traceability system by KADAR standards. We don't just produce barrels, we also make a promise that behind every single product we make is reliability, quality and transparency. Thanks to our unique traceability system, the history of each of our barrels can be traced back from the origin of the wood, through the seasoning conditions, to the toasting protocol. This process is not only a guarantee of quality, but also an assurance to winemakers and beverage producers that the beverages aged in Kádár barrels are always produced in the best possible conditions. We have been helping customers to prepare for this all year and, for those not in the know or who may want to inform their supply chain, we have produced a video as a timely reminder about Regulation (EU) 2021/2117 and our compliant solutions.
