When an individual has financial health, they experience greater overall well-being and bring their best selves to the workplace. Unfortunately, 80% of employees report being financially stressed, and only 28% of employers offer financial wellness programs. Today’s workers must navigate complicated benefits packages and make critical decisions about their personal finances with limited or no guidance from their employers. This article discusses three steps you as an employer can take to boost the financial health of your employees and alleviate money-related stress and distractions: 1) take an “ecosystem” approach to employees’ financial health, 2) help employees effectively navigate benefits, and 3) recruit an external firm or in-house expert to provide education on financial well-being.

This keeps our caregivers confident and competent. 2. Positive Work Environment: - Foster a supportive atmosphere with mentorship programs where experienced caregivers guide newcomers. Celebrate team achievements with monthly appreciation events to boost morale. 3. Competitive Compensation: - Conduct annual salary reviews to ensure our wages are competitive. Offer comprehensive benefits packages, including health insurance and wellness programs, to show we care about their well-being. 4. Recognize Dedication: - Establish an “Employee of the Month” program with rewards like gift cards and extra paid time off. Publicly acknowledge their hard work in staff meetings and newsletters. 5. Career Advancement: - Create clear career pathways from caregiver roles to leadership positions. Offer tuition reimbursement for those pursuing further education or certifications. 6. Work-Life Balance: - Implement flexible scheduling options like part-time shifts or job sharing. Encourage caregivers to take their full vacation time and provide resources for stress management. 7. Get to know your employees : - As directors and managers it’s easy to hide in our offices all day and get tied down with work. But actually step out your office , walk the floor and actually get to know the employees that work for you. You’d be suprized how many managers actually don’t know their employees names. 9. Strong Leadership: - Train supervisors in emotional intelligence and conflict resolution. Regularly check in with caregivers to discuss their needs and career goals. 10. Foster Purpose: - Share resident success stories and positive feedback with the team.
