NXP & MicroEJ Team Up to Assist Embedded Systems Innovation Created in conjunction with embedded software vendor MicroEJ, the NXP Semiconductors Platform Accelerator presents engineers with a multifaceted solution for more effective system development. It incorporates cutting-edge tools that enable virtual device management and simulation, plus a multi-language framework for combination of C, Java and JavaScript. The Android Studio, IntelliJ and Eclipse IDEs are all supported. Pivotal to this solution are its constituent MICROEJ VEE software containers, with standard APIs. These enables software portability across NXP’s wide array of RTOS-based microcontroller units (MCUs) and Linux-based applications processor devices. As a result, smartphone-like software design flexibility is being brought to industrial and IoT edge installations. The upshot is that development times can be substantially shortened with reductions in cost and resource allocation being witnessed. It also means there is more scope to scale up the functional parameters at a later stage if required.
