Founder & CCO @ BONANA 🇳🇱🇧🇪| RevOps fanatic | Senior HubSpot Consultant & HubSpot Certified Trainer | SaaS, Business Services & E-commerce
🥂Exactly one year ago, I went from being a ‘thinker’ to a ‘doer’. A big leap of faith. These last 12 months have been an incredible journey, and I couldn't be prouder of the progress we've made with BONANA. From 3 to 14 Senior professionals. From 0 to 6 key partnerships. From 0 to 45 clients in The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, France, UK, US, Germany and Norway. It’s been a rollercoaster of excitement, challenges, and immense learning. As a professional, and as a person. Firstly, I want to thank our partners, customers and my colleagues who have been part of this adventure. Your unwavering support, dedication, and belief in BONANA have been the driving force behind our success. We’ve tackled challenges head-on, celebrated milestones, and continually pushed the boundaries of what we thought possible. Together. The journey definitely hasn't been without its hurdles. It demands resilience, adaptability, and intrinsic motivation of everyone involved. There have been late nights, busy weekends and tough decisions. But every challenge has been a stepping stone, teaching us valuable lessons, and making us stronger. What fills me with pride the most is when I reflect on the achievements of everyone in the team. The personal growth they all went through is mindblowing. Thrilled as I am with what we’ve accomplished, I am even more excited about the future. The potential we have to grow, innovate, and make a lasting impact is limitless. This only feels like the beginning, for our partners and us. Thank you to everyone who has been part of BONANA’s journey so far. Here's to another year of growth, innovation, success & especially.. fun! 🚀🧨 #Milestone #Grateful #Innovation #BONANA #RevOps #Strategy #Digital

In a recent interview with ImpactAlpha, Sebastián Welisiejko, New Ventures, and the GSG’s Chief Policy Officer, discusses the importance of impact investment in shaping the future of Latin America. Key points ✨ include: 🚀 Brazil's drive to introduce (from Jan 2024) and mandate (from Jan 2026) global sustainability disclosure requirements ISSB S1 and S2 can shape the future of corporates not only in the country but in Latam as a whole, leading businesses to align their financial and sustainability strategies and boosting impact transparency in the region. 🌳 Latin America, a region rich in biodiversity, faces a unique opportunity—and challenge—to leverage its natural resources responsibly. To bridge the huge financing gap to achieve this, Seb emphasizes the critical need for domestic capital to be a first mover, encouraging local investors, companies, and family offices to take the lead. The GSG is committed to continuing to work intensely in and with the region through its vast network of National Advisory Boards (currently covering 12 countries in Latin America) and in partnership with other leading impact market builders in the region. 🌎🤝 🎥 Watch Seb´s full interview with ImpactAlpha’s Dennis Price at FLII here: https://lnkd.in/gBXjm74k #ImpactInvesting #impacteconomy #LatinAmerica Sistema B, Latimpacto, ANDE Latinoamérica, Global Alliance of Impact Lawyers (GAIL) Latin America , VIVA Idea

Great news! “Wingo“ has been selected as one of 8 companies out of 110 from Latvia to be accepted in Baltic Impact Accelerator program. The program tackles challenges of new companies in the Central Baltic region by utilising the Triple Bottom Line methodology, enabling them to grow with specific consideration towards environment and society. As a result, the scaling-up of companies is done in three levels: Profit, Planet & People. For “Wingo” this means cross-border cooperation with other companies in order to attract investments and expand beyond our home borders into Northern Europe. We have our eyes set on Sweden. For a beginning...

What were you proud of, in 2023? For me it is the project “Cherishing our Governance”, that came to a climax last week, by the approval of our renewed governance-documents in the top structure of Vebego . Besides that, we launched a unique Vebego Handbook Governance, that makes our governance easy to read and to use. For me, this all has to do with Great Work. As Vebego we want to deliver Great Work. That also applies to our governance. One of the reasons we won the Family Company Award last year was because of how Vebego – including the family-owners - take constantly care of our governance. The reason we want good governance, in the end, is because it helps Vebego to realise its mission, to create value in a sustainable way. So that we, as Vebego, are able to make more impact. On our people, on society. It helps if we have clarity on roles and tasks and responsibilities. It may prevent a lot of discussion, but more important it increases predictability and as a consequence trust can grow. Good governance helps to accelerate and to focus on our business. And besides that, of course, we want to easily work together in a professional and pleasant way! So the meaning of Good Governance is not about regulating the system but about leading Vebego together towards Great Work. I would like to specially thank Corinne Kuipers (VBK) and Kim van den Heuvel - Grinwis en Maarten Hendriks (THCM) for the enjoyable and intensive journey we made together. On to the next project in 2024: aligning and updating the governance between the holding and the companies. Vebego: Meaningful jobs. Great Work. Better World. #goodgovernance #makeiteasy #greatwork #proudmoment

After exploring the startup world with a few businesses, and after succeeding after two years as FiBAN’s Communications Manager, I’ve now become COO! 🥳 A big thanks to Tiina Laisi-Puheloinen for believing in me. :) My journey to this point has been anything but a straight line. My career first started learning PR, social media, and crowdfunding secrets by working for a very ambitious film company with a big vision, Iron Sky Universe. I still think that’s the kind of thinking that should be in the Finnish cultural landscape. Crazy big vision with the ambition to take it beyond this little country. I am still very grateful for that experience and it had a big impact on me. And that’s the spirit that I ended up way later finding more in the startup sector. Later, I was part of co-founding some crazy ventures and some of my own. 🎙️A fun fact: I started my own small business at 24, alongside my studies — because why not? It was a storytelling open mic club that ran for around 2 years in Turku, first every month, then every 2 months and then less because I ran out of stories to tell and it was a lot of work to kick the audience in the butt to tempt them coming on stage. Sometimes it worked and some amazing sharing was heard, and sometimes I had to spill the tea about my life to the whole town to fill the empty moments on stage. I’ve shared some funny, weird, scary, embarrassing, and very personal things there on stage. I can tell you that sharing is a bit of a challenge for Finns.🤯 They (Us, We) have a lot of cool stories to share but don’t realize they have something unique and that no one may have experienced the same as them. But we keep these little story gems mostly to ourselves, which is a shame. I guess that goes for this startup sector too. Nesting your business idea and hoping that someone asks what it’s about. I do that too, like this little piece of story here that I kept for myself and a few friends for a long time. With a Master’s in Media Studies, I'm probably one of the few humanities folks in startup finance (please report to me if you’re one of them!) 🙌 Looking forward to this next chapter at FiBAN, where my focus is on helping the community, including investors and startups, thrive even better (together with an ace team!) 🎬In media studies, the term cliffhanger was used describing a moment in film/ TV when you give a little bit of something juicy but leave the viewer “hanging”. We plan to release a bit of a more in-depth look at my path through the startup world because it’s quite a peculiar one all in all, so stay tuned! 😁
The Finnish Business Angels Network (FiBAN) has appointed Milja Inkeri Mäkelä Mäkelä as its new COO (Chief Operating Officer). 👏 This is a brand-new role at FiBAN, designed to strengthen the strategic renewal that began last year. 🗣 "Milja’s professional skills and her experience in the startup world make her an excellent fit for the role of COO at FiBAN," FiBAN's CEO Tiina Laisi-Puheloinen describes. ℹ Milja Mäkelä, who joined FiBAN in 2022, previously served as the Communications Manager. She brings a diverse background to the team, including experience as a startup co-founder, CMO, and roles in communication and marketing across various sectors. 👉Read how to break the ice with Milja. 🐾🎵 https://lnkd.in/d3hJG-TS

Last year, Irish exports by Enterprise Ireland client firms shot up by 19% to €32.1bn! And what is even more impressive is that more Irish businesses have established their presence in 415 new places overseas. This was boosted by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar kicking off expansions for companies like Climeaction and Output Sports in the US, as well as ClonBio Group Limited's plan on investing $500m on grain biorefinery in Wisconsin. The accelerated global expansion of Irish businesses highlights the crucial role of innovation and competitiveness in driving Ireland's growth and economic development but also showcases Irish businesses ability to innovate on a global scale. With a strong industrial base and first-rate R&D, Irish companies are doing a fantastic job in conquering markets worldwide. #IrishExports ##GlobalExpansion
