Modern Widows Club is so grateful for a $10,000 grant from AmFund- American Fundraising Foundation to support our many programs for compassionate #widowsupport for widows moving from #grief to #growth while rebuilding life post loss of a spouse. Foundation support is critical for the thousands of #widows who find us every year worldwide. Many are financially devastated. Our widow leadership and expertise enables us to create communities led by trained leaders and develop in person and virtual programs backed by research. The outcome is a decrease in overwhelm, fear, isolation, depression and lack of interest in health to 90% increase in confidence, decision making, happiness, meaning and purpose, peace of mind, interest in health and their new future. Investing in widow programs decreases local and state mental health, health care and social support systems while supporting widows with proven solutions to the many secondary losses that come in the years after the primary loss. LIVE4LALI SPOTLIGHT SATURDAY!: The Way Back Inn💜💚 The Way Back Inn, 104 Oak St, Maywood, IL https://waybackinn.org/ When Live4Lali expanded our programming in suburban Cook County, Way Back Inn was one of the first non-profits to reach out for partnership and collaboration. Vocally supporting our harm reduction efforts in the northern Cook County Suburbs, including us in all events, and making sure we have a seat at the table has been helpful in serving new communities that might not know us. The Way Back Inn has served the recovery community for 50 years. Way Back Inn serves individuals seeking recovery from alcohol, drugs, and gambling. The overall goal is to help each person achieve continuous recovery. Every person is treated with dignity and respect. WBI programs are based on a recovery model that is holistic, utilizing multiple evidence-based treatment modalities and professional disciplines to provide a well-rounded treatment approach to support individuals in making lifestyle changes that minimize the effects of their illness, facilitating the formation of informed decisions about continuing abstinence, sobriety, recovery, and mental health stability. Mission Statement: To rebuild lives damaged by addiction in a personalized healing environment. Vision Statement: To create an environment where lives are transformed and relationships are healed. There is no pamphlet for parenting, but we do know what it takes to create a comprehensive primary prevention ecosystem that keeps children and families safe, healthy, and thriving. PCA America's signature program, Healthy Families America (HFA), has 30 years of demonstrated positive outcomes with home visiting, sometimes partnering with families that span generations. And yet, when you combine all of the organizations across the country providing this necessary service to communities, only 5% percent of eligible high priority families received home visiting services in 2022. Make a gift today in support of critical support for families, like HFA: https://lnkd.in/gX7wzH2r #PreventionIsPossible #HealthyFamiliesAmerica #HomeVisitingProgram #SupportingFamilies #DonateToday

🌟 Tomorrow is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, and Juniper is standing strong against elder abuse, calling on the community to join us. As one of Western Australia’s largest non-profit aged care providers, we're dedicated to ensuring a safe environment where everyone—staff, customers, and their families—feels confident to speak up if something’s amiss. Sadly, 1 in 6 older Western Australians experience elder abuse, often from those closest to them. This can include financial, social, physical, sexual, psychological, or emotional abuse, with many cases going unreported. “We provide ongoing training for our staff to identify and respond to signs of elder abuse. Additionally, we have established clear reporting procedures for customers and families,” Juniper CEO Russell Bricknell said. This year’s World Elder Abuse Awareness Day theme, “Wise Up, Rise Up against Elder Abuse,” emphasises our collective responsibility: 💡 Wise up – Learn more about elder abuse, recognise the signs, and know where to access support. 🚀 Rise up – Take action individually and within our communities to stop elder abuse and support older Western Australians. 🌟 A Walk Through Notting Hill Gate: Unveiling the Silent Battles Today, as I descended onto the tube platform at Notting Hill Gate, I encountered a homeless veteran. His eyes spoke volumes, a language of pain and a soul weathered by the hardships of life. His sign read, “Veteran, Hungry, please spare any food or change, I’ve fallen on hard times.” I found myself without money, without food to offer, feeling an overwhelming sense of helplessness. It made me reflect on the very values we hold dear—the Honour, Courage, and Trust that once fuelled his drive and ambition. What happened along the way? This encounter echoes the sentiments of the Shutter Island quote: “To live as a monster or die as a good man.” It reminds us that life’s journey can take unexpected turns, leaving individuals grappling with internal conflicts we might not fully understand. Here’s the call to action: Who can help? Who can point me towards charities that can help? How do we prevent more Veterans suffering and ending up homeless? Let’s come together to support veterans who have faced unimaginable challenges after their service. Share this post, raise awareness, and encourage our network to contribute to charities that address mental health issues among veterans. By standing united, we can be a force for change. 🛡️ Honour, 🦁 Courage, 🤝 Trust: Unite for Change #VeteransSupport #HonorCourageTrust #MentalHealthAwareness #SupportOurHeroes #VeteranCare #EndHomelessness #RaiseAwareness #CharityForChange #EmpathyInAction #ShutterIslandMoment #NottingHillGate #InspireChange #VeteranJourney #TogetherWeStand #ChangeMakers #UniteForVeterans #SilentStruggles #KindnessMatters #MakeADifference #GiveBack #VeteranEmpowerment #CompassionInAction #SupportOurTroops #StandWithVets #EndVeteranHunger #RaiseYourVoice #ImpactChange #SocialGood #CommunityUnity #SpreadKindness #MissionVeteran #EveryVoiceMatters #ServeWithHeart #ChangeTheNarrative #RaiseHope #UnityForChange #ShareYourStory #HumanityMatters #HopeForHeroes

September is #NationalSuicidePreventionAwarenessMonth! Although #suicideprevention is important every day of the year, National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, first established in 2008, gives us an opportunity to shine a special, encouraging light on this topic that affects us all, and send a clear, hopeful message that help is available, and suicide can be prevented. According to the CDC, each year more than 48,000 individuals die by suicide, leaving behind friends and family members to navigate the tragedy of their loss. Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death among adults in the US and the 2nd leading cause of death among people aged 10-24. Unfortunately, these rates are increasing. Throughout the month, I will be sharing ways that you can make a difference. The National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) has compiled a list of helpful resources for parents and caregivers, children and teens, #mentalhealthproviders, educators and school staff, and policy makers in 15 languages. Visit here to download fact sheets, resource guides, tip sheets, and more: https://lnkd.in/g4yBB-pb https://lnkd.in/eFWGdGY6

Board of Director Chairperson "CLCL Foundation" -- Choose love. Celebrate life. A Foundation for Youth & Families, Inc.
262 days with ZERO SAFE HAVE ACCESS for ALL youth in Ocean and Monmouth County, NJ (approx 162,813 10 to 19 year-olds without any local help). Newark is the ONLY option for youth under 18 - for many in Ocean County, this city is over an hour away. It DEMANDS YOUTH LEAVE their self-made support networks made up of peers, teachers and coaches. It FORCES YOUNG PEOPLE to leave their communities. And it INSISTS URBAN CITIES foot the bill for suburban youth. This is NOT the way evidence shows is best for addressing the mental, emotional, and behavioral needs of youth and families in need of support services. Youth have a FEDERAL RIGHT to runaway and stay safe. If we deny them local safe refuge, they are more at-risk of human and CHILD TRAFFICKING, offering SURVIVAL SEX, and a litany of negative outcomes. Help CLCL Foundation RESTORE SANCTUARY ACCESS and expand preventative services to thwart runaway and homeless youth. There is an evidence-based, trauma-informed, antiracist and inclusive way to provide services. Problems have SOLUTIONS - only TOGETHER can we have the wisdom and power to make the difference. PM today about JOINING our MISSION! We ARE the CHANGE! Join us today! https://clclfoundation.org
