Wishing Joseph Turner and Micah Gaudet the best of luck with their new venture. Two ideas worth highlighting from their introductory podcast align directly with MuniReg objectives. 1) The idea of utilizing public sector principals. MuniReg delivers free information that #codeenforcement staff voice frustration in retrieving, . This allows for greater efficiencies and better utilization of existing resources. In the private sector, folks would be banging down our doors. 2) "If the only thing in life is championing others good ideas, thats a pretty cool thing to do" is a direct quote. MuniReg monitors communities across the country, and through its social media posts, LinkedIn Newsletter and direct email alerts champions others good ideas. In this case "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" rings true. Though each community has it unique qualities, if something works for one community it most likely will work elsewhere and should be replicated. Of course, conversely if a problem or concern exists, it should be on everyone's radar. There are a lot of good ideas out there, public and private sector, and knowledge is power. #MuniReg #BuildingBetterCommunities #localgovernment #blight #vacant #localgov #zombieproperties #zombieforeclosures #abandonedproperties #vpr #vpro #foreclosure #urbanplanning #citymanagement #codeviolations #vacantpropertyregistration #municipalities #nuisanceproperties #citymanager #cityadministration #cityadminstrator #vadproperties #communitydevelopment #blightfight #taxforeclosure #planning National League of Cities United States Conference of MayorsAmerican Planning Association
Host of City Manager Unfiltered podcast | Founder of the American Association of Municipal Executives | Have largest and most engaged audience of city/county managers | Proud father of a United States Marine & Sailor
No organization exists to defend and advocate for the city or county manager as a professional. That is -- until now! Micah Gaudet and I are proud to introduce to you the American Association of Municipal Executives (AAME.org). We are building a community that supports, develops, and advocates on behalf of city managers and public sector executives. The American Association of Municipal Executives will be an organization built on the singular purpose of serving you -- the public sector executive. The three core pillars of AAME will be: ✅ Community & Networking ✅ Personal & Professional Development ✅ Advocacy & Education We have some big, big plans! But plans and ideas are meaningless if we don't have your support. We want you to join us and take an active role in building an organization that will change the landscape of public administration. You have the opportunity to be part of something special -- something historic. If you want to truly make a difference -- go to AAME.org today and become a FOUNDING MEMBER. You can also catch this week's episode of the City Manager Unfiltered Podcast where Micah and I discuss the purpose and motivations behind the creation of AAME in more detail here: https://lnkd.in/dUf2SN_A
