Great insights from the participants of the Risilience Sustainable Futures Conference in London. The new Transition Plan Taskforce launched last week and summed up by TPT Co-Chair Matt Scott, encourages peer-to-peer sharing of best practice in transition planning, so we were certainly practicing what they preach. Many thanks to Megan Mitrevski Dale for her presentation on how Coca Cola European Partners work with Risilience on their transition planning. Andy Clarke, Bayer, Nigel Brook, Clyde & Co, for their advice on communicating net zero plans to stakeholders. And to Tom Beagent, PwC; Chris Guest, James Clague, Tesco, for discussions on internal collaboration within organizations to operationalize decarbonization plans. Supply chains and scope 3 reductions figured at length, and we had the benefit of practical experience from Marcelo Behar, Natura, Grainne Lynch, IBM, Nick Faull, Marsh, and Mukesh Kumar, University of Cambridge. Not forgetting our keynote speaker, Jo Fairley, with her inspirational story of founding Green & Black’s sustainable chocolate business through to its acquisition and adoption of sustainable chocolate by Cadbury’s and ultimately Mondelez. Her chocolate samples and prizes were the perfect way to keep everyone engaged. Doing good is good for business.
