Exciting Updates from IRCC for 2024! 🇨🇦 In a recent statement, IRCC announced that starting this month, it will begin the 2024 category-based rounds of invitations aimed at French speakers and professionals in specific categories. Considering the continued validity of demand projections in the Canadian job market used to determine specific categories for 2023, IRCC will maintain the same categories for the 2024 category-based rounds. This implies that individuals proficient in French (CLB 7 or higher) or fitting into certain categories will have enhanced opportunities to receive invitations through the Express Entry system in 2024. These categories encompass the following: ⁃ Healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, dentists, chiropractors, and massage therapists. ⁃ Professionals in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, known as "STEM," including engineers, architects, software developers, and data scientists. ⁃ Professionals in trades occupations such as carpenters, plumbers, welders and contractors. ⁃ Transportation professionals like truck drivers, flight controllers, aircraft pilots, and transportation managers. ⁃ Professionals in agriculture and agri-food sectors such as butchers, greenhouse supervisors, and farm supervisors. A comprehensive overview of eligible positions for the 2024 category-based rounds of invitations is available at: https://lnkd.in/gap-bqgt IRCC underscores its commitment to placing a special focus on candidates with a strong French language proficiency in Express Entry, aligning with federal initiatives aimed at promoting Francophone immigration outside Quebec. 🌐 Calling all Ontario employers! 📢 This November, you have a golden opportunity to find top talent at the Destination Canada Mobility Forum. Explore two exciting options to promote your company and fill crucial roles. From showcasing your jobs to attending in person, we've got you covered. Participation in the forum is free, and there are 2 ways you can promote your company: For the first time, each province taking part in the forum will be able to propose the participation of a few employers who have at least 10 positions to fill. Invest Ottawa is working with the province to identify an Ottawa company to attend in person and online at the forum. These companies should have past experience hiring foreign talent through immigration programs. Other Canadian employers will be able to share their job offers with exhibitors from their province or territory, city or region, or with an economic development agency who will attend the forum. Invest Ottawa can post your Ottawa based positions through our booth. 🌍 Reach out to our team today and learn how you can be part of this amazing event. 📣 Exciting Update for Express Entry Candidates This week has seen significant developments in Canada's Express Entry system, reflecting IRCC’s commitment to facilitating the transition of temporary residents to permanent residency. 🔹 Program-Specific Draws: On May 30, IRCC conducted a draw specifically for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates, followed by a draw for Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates—the first of its kind since September 14, 2021, featuring the lowest CRS score of the year for a non-category-based draw! 🔹 Domestic Draw Focus: These draws emphasize helping temporary residents already living and working in Canada transition to permanent residency, aiming to reduce the overall number of temporary residents. 🔹 Draw Schedule: After a month-long pause, the May 30 draw marked the first since April 24. According to IRCC, all draws this year are occurring on a predetermined schedule influenced by 2024 and 2025 admission targets and processing capacity. 🔹 Category-Based Selection: In 2024, category-based draws will prioritize French proficiency, STEM occupations, and healthcare occupations. These categories have been identified due to their high employment rates and strong economic integration potential. 🔹 Future Outlook: With 21.5% of ITAs slated for general draws, IRCC’s strategic approach aims to better align immigration with Canada’s economic needs and labour market demands. These changes reflect a dynamic and responsive immigration system designed to support both the economy and the aspirations of immigrants in Canada. #ExpressEntry #Immigration #CEC #EconomicIntegration #IRCC #PermanentResidency #SkilledWorkers
