Something different! People ask me where low-carbon Hydrogen makes sense and, aside from sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs) ✈ or replacing existing grey H2 offtakes 🏭, industrial applications like these RTG's are a critical market. Hydrogen offers a way to power equipment without the need for increased electrical service - although existing or new H2 infrastructure is required instead (no silver bullets for fossil fuels). Any industrial sites that already have H2 make a perfect case for expanding hydrogen fuel cell deployments. From offering site power plants 🔌 ⚡ , to refueling FCEV's 🚛 - we need to develop the market for using hydrogen to match the growing investment in hydrogen production.

Luxfer Gas Cylinders has announced an investment of over £1 million in its European base in Nottingham, where it will establish a new production facility to support ‘virtual’ gas pipelines that can distribute hydrogen across the UK and Europe. The company specialises in the manufacture of high-pressure aluminium and composite cylinders. Its Nottingham manufacturing base produces up to one million cylinders each year and is home to alternative fuel specialists, who have embedded world-first hydrogen-powered systems into buses, trucks, trains, boats, tractors and even drones.   This new purpose-built facility will produce Multiple Element Gas Containers (MEGCs), with the first units available from summer 2024.    Available in 20-foot, 40-foot and 45-foot solutions, the G-Stor™ Hydrosphere range can store between 0.5 and 1.4 tonnes of clean gas and transport it to where it is needed, opening up access to hydrogen for companies targeting greener operations. #hydrogen #storage #transport #cylinders #production #investment

The World’s first electric, high voltage Anode Transport Vehicle has completed the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) and related high magnetic field tests with good results. With the 152 kWh, 700V Li-ion powerpack the machine will be able to do 19 hours per day in operations, this equals a mesmerising 6200 hours per year. The electric version complements the existing line of conventional towing heads, the modular set-up allows exchanging existing conventional articulated vehicles whenever the customer is ready for this future step. That’s what we call ground-breaking within our industry, an important step made possible by the proud team of Hencon in close collaboration with Norsk Hydro.    The other 4 similar Anode Transporters are already in production and will be delivered soon after, this is only the beginning of another 10 machines with equal battery technology that will go through our production up to 2025. #ServingProgress #EAPTV #AluminiumIndustry
