Another successful system integration and commissioning for a client in the Permian Basin. The control cabinet and switch rack were designed and built in-house from the Ascend Automation & Controls team. I had my fun getting through SCADA point-to-point testing and control loop tuning.
Critical infrastructure upgrades. One extraordinary location. 🌴☀️
It's a tough job, but Scott Johnston and his amazing crew were more than equal to the challenge!

At Proton Power, we specialise in the management of high voltage power and energy-related assets - wherever they may be.
We cover the asset life cycle from the point of commissioning and handover of the construction phase through to decommissioning options; and our services meet exacting quality standards, using leading-edge software and instrumentation to deliver tailored solutions.
Happy to be able to share another set of Transvac - Ejector Solutions Gas Ejectors and Silencers has been recently delivered to the client for installation as part of an FPSO upgrade. This is a great example of how simple an Ejector installation can be for offshore Flare Gas Recovery, to reduce the amount of normal flaring and minimise the Platform's environmental impact.
The gas is separately recovered from the LP and HP flare KO drums, operating near atmospheric pressure, with the combined discharge stream sent to the LP compressor inlet. To simplify the installation the Ejector bodies have identical 3" Shells, with internals sized to suit the different purge gas flow rates, with spare capacity in the bodies to increase recovery rates in the future.
The client preferred the option of using the ejector technology in lieu of a compressor/blower package, to limit mechanical parts and overall package footprint, given the space restrictions on the mature asset.
I enjoyed working closely with the contractor on this one, all the way through from design selection, providing HAZOP support, layout recommendations and providing education on Ejectors and operating philosophies.
Please feel free to get in touch if you are looking at ways to reduce CO2 emissions and prevent flaring on your assets and would like to know more about how Ejectors can help.

Harnessing Over 20 Years of Expertise in Pneumatic and Hydraulic Actuation Systems.
At #ATC, we are proud to lead the market with our reliable compact valve actuator systems, proven in upstream and subsea oil and gas applications. Our technology, integral to Shell's VITO floating production system, delivers exceptional reliability and availability, ensuring critical service with minimal maintenance requirements.
Our compact actuators are designed for early and detailed design stages, offering substantial space and weight reduction, crucial for floating production systems (e.g. FPSO) and fixed platforms. By optimizing layouts and reducing the overall footprint, we significantly lower CAPEX, achieving both weight and cost savings.
Key Benefits:
· Proven Space and Weight Saving Concept: Our actuators contribute to a compact layout, essential for the increasing requirement to downsize facilities.
· Optimization and Reliability: Perfect for high-torque large-sized valves, but also low-pressure large-sized valves, ensuring optimal performance in upstream production and both subsea shallow and deep-water installations.
· Life cycle Cost Reduction: Our systems reduce life cycle costs through reliable design and minimal maintenance needs.
· High Volume and Small Quantity Orders: Capable of meeting diverse ( and multiple) project demands, from high volume orders to specialized small quantity requests.
Join us in leading the future of actuation technology.

A major U.S. refinery sought an independent engineering review for a new flare system bid package. After confirming that corporate standards and project guidelines aligned with current industry practices, Smith & Burgess identified an opportunity to save the refinery $10 million by eliminating a proposed secondary utility flare system from the project scope.

The Orbitalum Gas Control Panel is an integral part of our software. It is a visual software control unit that can be used to set, verify and save all gas flows and settings for the welding process. Once they are saved in a welding program, it will overwrite all manual purge settings for the welding head and power source.
This gas overview allows the operator to set the volume flow rates of the shielding gases that are fed to the welding head. In addition, the volume of the supplied gas can be checked and adjusted here to ensure that it meets the requirements of the welding process. The gas overview also has a test function to determine the maximum gas flow rate.
