What impressed me the most when I rode the REM, #Montreal's new driverless metro, is the land and real estate development around its stations, the integration with local bus services and the huge park-and-ride infrastructure. It clearly shows that #publictransport is not just a way to go from A to B but a game changer for the #economy, the #society and the #environment. The street: the heart of the resilient city 🏙️ As part of a project led by Leonard, more than 80 experts spent 12 months focused on the theme of the “shared street”. Among those involved were experts from Citeos and Omexom, like Khadija Tighanimine, who contributed to the discussion on the collection and supply of data, electric vehicle charging points, traffic flow management and public lighting systems 💡 “The street is the ultimate community asset. As such, it should be a safe, comfortable space for each and every person to use. It was recently announced that the City of Atlanta will receive nearly $11.8 million to install a DC Fast Charging Hub at the Atlanta Airport ✈️ with 50 DC Fast Chargers. The DC Fast Charger Hub will provide critical charging for rental car companies, ride-share drivers, airport shuttles for hotels, employees, the City's growing electric fleet of light to heavy-duty vehicles, as well as regional and local EV drivers coming to the airport or driving along the nearby major highway systems. The project aims to improve asthma related issues in predominantly Black and underserved neighborhoods and would engage underserved communities to ensure widespread adoption of EVs. 🚙 #DriveElectricGeorgia This grant is made possible through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s $2.5-billion Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Discretionary Grant Program and a 10 percent set-aside from the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program.

♻ 🚛 Partnering with Rushcliffe Borough Council, we conducted an analysis of their existing vehicle fleets, emissions profiles, and operational protocols to develop a visionary Zero Emission Vehicle and Infrastructure Strategy. This also involved determining the number and type of electric vehicle charging infrastructure required and assessing it against the potential demand. 🚛 ♻ The resulting strategic roadmap not only sets forth pathways to achieve substantial emissions reductions but also identifies tangible operational and financial benefits. Sometimes, challenges emerge from unexpected sources. Axios highlighted a concerning trend: Los Angeles was labeled a "charging desert" due to limited public EV charging stations despite the city's significant EV presence. With nearly 588,000 registered EVs in L.A., accounting for 4.2% of all vehicles, the demand for accessible charging infrastructure is evident.
