Early careers in the insurance industry play a crucial role in shaping the future of the industry.
Here are some key reasons highlighting the importance of early careers in the insurance sector:
1. Talent Development:
Early careers provide an opportunity for young professionals to enter the insurance industry, learn about the various aspects of the business, and develop their skills and expertise. This talent development is essential for the growth and sustainability of the industry.
2. Innovation and Adaptation:

4. Customer-Centric Approach:
Young professionals are often more in tune with the needs and preferences of the younger generation of insurance customers. Their insights can help insurance companies tailor products and services to meet the evolving demands of the market.
5. Technological Advancements:

Today, some of the Early Career Analysts from the APAC Cohort and our group mentor Vivian Chow had the privilege of having Miguel Miranda, Regional Underwriting Manager A&H – Europe| Global ERG leader, as our guest speaker in the 6th Mentoring Circle Session. Miguel shared his career journey and his team-based accomplishments with us. My fellow ECAs also shared their career journey so far and their passion for their line of business, which was very heartfelt. One of the greatest gifts of working for an organisation that fosters learning and development is that, more often than not, my self-reflection accompanies the learning journey. I recall reading a quote about the circle of life that says sometimes we are mentees and other times we are mentors. Today, I had a meaningful connection with my fellow ECAs, our cohort group mentor Vivian and our special guest Miguel where I was learning so much from all of them. Thank you, all. Last but not least, my sincere gratitude to Shiina for co-hosting the session with me.

Personal stories are so powerful.
While co-facilitating the “Welcome to #DNV session” to the DNV’s new joiners, I found myself fascinated by the guest speakers.
They
💎 shared their wealth of wisdom
💎 discussed the ups and downs of their careers
💎 spoke openly about the challenges they tackled
💎 and gave advice to new joiners.
As I welcomed my new colleagues, I learned from these speakers too.
Here are the key pieces of advice that resonated with me:
💡 Opportunities often arise unexpectedly, sometimes at inconvenient times. It's crucial to seize them whenever they appear and make the most of them.
💡 Do something every day that takes you a bit out of your comfort zone
💡 Avoid comparing your career journey to others'.
💡 Seek feedback regularly
