Poland has been experiencing a boom in the #Fintech sector in recent years. The country now has 79% more fintech companies than it did in 2018. Some have already achieved their first successful results after offering their services abroad. The Polish Fintech ecosystem, although relatively young, is set to continue developing and expanding at this rapid rate. Polandโs best-known Fintech is #Blik, a unique mobile payment system launched in 2015. It had 1 million users in its first six months of operation, which has now grown to almost 13 million users. Blik has completed almost 2,800,000,000 transactions worth PLN 371.4 billion. Fintechs in Poland operate in 15 sectors, with nearly half of them existing in payments, financial management, and software delivery. Most are less than 5 years old. 41% already have revenues in excess of PLN 10 million. 39% employ 11-50 people, and 32% have no more than 10 people. However, the share of the largest entities employing over 100 people is 13% and growing. The trend of creating strategic partnerships between technology providers and banks is also set to continue. It is also significant that Polish consumers are extremely open to innovation, of which the banking system has long been the best example. We are delighted to announce our collaboration with Wirtschaftsfรถrderung Frankfurt GmbH, PKO Bank Polski, Fieldfisher, and FinTech Poland to host a fintech meetup in Frankfurt, bringing together #Polish fintechs and Frankfurt's banks and fintech institutions. We eagerly anticipate your presence on Thursday, December 7th, Devender Maggo, Dr. Alexandra Hachmeister, Jens Hachmeister, David Strauss, Oliver Schluemer, Dr. Markus Gsell, Sรถnke Bรคstlein, Bastian Bahnemann, Mario Hachemer, Grigory Vilkov, Christoph Kraus, Dr. Thomas Funke, Peter Gomber, Dr. Benjamin Clapham, Benjamin Michel, Sebastian Mazurkiewicz, Lucas Daniel Schmitt, Peter Neu, PhD, Tim Kaltwasser, Alexander Michel, Claudia Mueller, Sarah Lewandowski, Thomas Winandy, Lukasz Grabowski, Justyna Lipczynska, ลukasz Chrabaลski, Raphael Polansky, Anna Polanska, Jonas Winkler, Dorota Kafara, Malin Sandbacka, Matthias Catรณn, Henryk Ciesielski, Dr. Michael Zimmer, Tim Runzheimer, Jochen Biedermann

๐Servus, FinTechs, Vienna is ready for you! ย FinTech week is kicking off today with fascinating talks all around Vienna. Today I had the honour of opening an exciting discussion about the future of remote banking by Fintech Austria at the Bank Austria Campus. FinTech has revolutionised the way we transfer money, save and invest โ making financial services available to new groups of people, and shaking up an industry that was long dominated by a handful of players. At FinTech week, experts will look at how new tech is changing the way we do business โ and what the repercussions are for the future of finance.ย ย A fantastic opportunity for the those in the industry, this week-event emphasizes once again how dedicated the city is to fostering innovation. Strong academia and translational research organisations, a well-connected community and a dense funding network are only a few of the things that speak for the rise of FinTech ventures in Vienna. And itโs no surprise โ with a growing, multilingual talent pool, a smart infrastructure, and a high quality of life, the city is an international business hub unlike any other. ย Our team at the Vienna Business Agency is proud to be able to support emerging and existing FinTechs in the city with everything from funding to consultations and networking opportunities. ย P.S.
