Dear Friends, Another year has passed. Faster than expected. I have the impression that I have only just cleared away last year's Christmas tree. We are diving into another new year. Actually, we do that every day. But 1 January is traditionally celebrated with popping fireworks. We dive into another new year, with new intentions and new energy. We hope it will be different and better. Year after year. If, however, we turn deep within, to that silence of which many fear, but which contains an endless ocean of peace, then we experience a world of integrity. We dive into another new year, to explore that world, make it our own and experience a field of love, light and power. It is the answer, to all our questions over and over again, year after year. Simple, simple, so simple that one cannot believe it. Yet it is within that you find happiness and appreciation. Then you know, all is well as it is NOW. Hilde Van Bulck 1 January 2024

Happy National Napping Day, everyone! 🌙✨ Today, we're not just celebrating a moment of rest; we're embracing a movement and championing a core belief that's ready to change the game: Rest as a Revolution. In the hustle of hitting targets and crafting innovations, it's easy to overlook the silent engine powering our creativity and well-being—rest. We're here to remind you that taking time to recharge isn't just a luxury; it's a necessity. It's the unsung hero behind every burst of creativity, every solution to a complex problem, and every step we take towards success. So, let's flip the script and celebrate recharging as a key component of our achievements. Let this National Napping Day be a reminder to all of us that to truly excel and innovate, we must also embrace the art of rest. Here's to resting intentionally, recharging fully, and revolutionizing the way we work and live. Because when we rest, we rise stronger. And let me tell you, my bed is one of my favourite places to be—it’s where some of my best ideas come to life! So, who is going to nap today?

The concept of "the power of yet" is a fundamental idea in the realm of growth mindset, popularised by psychologist Carol Dweck. The phrase embodies the belief that abilities and intelligence can be developed with time, effort, and persistence. Here’s an overview of its key components: Growth Mindset vs. Fixed Mindset: Growth Mindset: Belief that abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work. Intelligence and talent are just the starting points. Fixed Mindset: Belief that abilities are static and cannot be changed. Intelligence and talent are viewed as innate and unchangeable. Embracing Challenges: Viewing challenges as opportunities to learn rather than obstacles to avoid. Persistence in the face of setbacks, seeing failure as a learning experience. The Power of Yet: Re-framing thoughts from "I can't do this" to "I can't do this yet." Recognising that learning and improvement are ongoing processes. Effort and Strategies: Emphasising effort and the use of effective strategies over innate ability. Encouraging the idea that with time and the right approach, progress will happen. Constructive Feedback: Viewing feedback as a tool for improvement rather than as criticism. Using feedback to adjust strategies and approaches. Practical Applications: Encouraging students to see their abilities as malleable. Promoting a classroom culture where effort is rewarded and mistakes are viewed as learning opportunities. Personal Development: Setting personal goals with an understanding that progress takes time. Practicing self-compassion and patience in the learning process. Professional Growth: Adopting a mindset that professional skills can be developed through continuous learning. Embracing professional challenges and feedback as opportunities for growth. Learning a New Skill: Instead of saying, “I’m not good at playing the piano,” re-frame to, “I’m not good at playing the piano yet.” Understand that proficiency comes with practice and time. Overcoming Difficulties: If facing a tough maths problem, instead of “I can’t solve this,” think “I haven’t solved this yet.” Realise that persistence and trying different approaches can lead to eventual success. Impact: Increased Resilience: Fosters a resilient attitude that can handle setbacks and challenges. Enhanced Motivation: Keeps motivation high as it acknowledges that success is a journey. Improved Performance: Leads to better outcomes in various areas by promoting a consistent effort. In summary, the power of yet is about believing in potential and the process of growth. It encourages a positive and proactive approach to learning and development, fostering resilience and perseverance.

When you are on your pursuit for the thing that drives you to wake up in the morning and learn why you are on this planet you should start and practice a skillset until you master the craft. That looks like making a ton of explorations and failures. It means getting your hands dirty and learning your own methods to success. This is the part of life that I think of called swinging on the monkey bars. When children play on the monkey bars it takes forever to learn the hand eye coordination to be masterful and not fall down. Getting across the monkey bars develop so many different Skillsets and you fall a lot. You fall infront of everyone but no one is focused on the fall not even the person waiting to get across next. There is nothing wrong with starting, it’s going to go bad. The problem is when you get stuck and stagnant and you stop trying to reach the other side and you won’t let go and fall. Fear of making any decision and fear of failure is the worst thing we can do on the monkey bars of life. We need to understand this playground of building the skillsets to make better decisions. Monkey bars are a singular experience done with your two hands. 🙌🏾 at first. But once you learn to climb and swing and hang upside down your perspective changes, and you find you are in a new community of explorers who applaud you for getting through the maze of life.
