WEEK 2: The countdown is on! Only two weeks until our annual Gala celebrating CEO Doug Muetzel’s 25 years of service on March 1. This week, he reflects on more than a quarter century of leadership. “The leadership team is represented by my direct reports, and they are an extraordinary group of leaders. The diversity amongst us is significant on multiple levels. I’ve come to learn that a high functioning team is led by two elements. The first is being mission centric: every single action and thought is subservient to what is best to empower children, adults, and families by providing transformational care. There is never a question within the current team that mission provides purpose, focus, guard rails and inspiration. The second is the actual living out of WFS core values. They consistently and admirably act upon transformation, in acknowledging every single person has a unique gift, never repeated past, present or future. Our guiding value is empathy. The foundation for empathy is the firm belief that every single person is valuable, never an exception! Our commitment to the third, excellence, is built upon consistently providing what is in the best interest of the “whole person” of each person entrusted to our care. It’s not always easy and often requires significant professional, and personal sacrifice. The fourth is innovation that stems from a commitment to continually looking for a better way. The best way to determine a new way is by respectful collaboration, working towards something better. Lastly, we find that acting upon our values leaves us inspired. With the current team of Emily, Pam, Heather, Kate, Robin, Marc, and Larry, I’ve been blessed personally, and organizationally. Their humility and mission focus, while living out the absolute truth of WFS values, delivers exceptional leadership. For that, I am so thankful and confident that not only was this exceptional leadership in the past, the present, but it will be for tomorrow as well.” Get your tickets here: https://lnkd.in/g6gAJ4F3

Helping companies increase their profits by building High-Performance Cultures. | Creator of Nine Minutes on Monday | Author | Speaker | Exec. Advisor
Is your company doing this? I've been working with Ball Corporation to train some of their leaders and plant managers and last week they held their Awards Banquet. Plant Managers and their teams flew to Denver from all over the world to celebrate together and people loved it. This is such a cool idea to help appreciate your people, reward and reinforce behaviors and hardwire in a winning culture. If you want to start some kind of annual awards, here's some tips to make it happen: 🏆 How to Start Your Own Company Awards Banquet! 🎉 1. Set Clear Objectives: What do you want to achieve with the banquet? Celebrate success, cultivate culture, foster unity? Define it. 2. Choose Your Categories: Align awards with your core values. Whether it's 'Innovation of the Year' 'Safety Idea of the Year, or 'Team Player Award,' make it meaningful and make sure it reinforces what you value. 3. Plan the Logistics: Decide on a venue, date, and theme. Get creative—your team’s hard work deserves a fitting backdrop. 4. Involve Your Team: This is about them, after all. Create committees, get input on categories, and make nominations a collaborative effort. 5. Promote the Event: Build excitement. Tease award names, hint at special guests, or spotlight nominees. Make It Shine: - Personalize awards to reflect your company culture. - Consider meaningful rewards that go beyond plaques and certificates. - Don't forget entertainment and good food—the hallmarks of a great banquet! Post-Banquet: - Share event highlights and award moments on company channels. - Gather feedback to make next year’s event even better. - An awards banquet isn't just a party; it's a catalyst for camaraderie and engagement. It says, "We see you, we value you, and we’re all in this success story together." Ready to roll out the red carpet for your team? #Leadership #EmployeeRecognition #CompanyCulture #TeamBuilding #AwardsBanquet

Celebrating and elevating Jorge Alvarez, Tiana Day, and Angela Richard, M.Ed. who engaged in a thought leadership session with the Taco Bell Foundation X CoLabL on Gen Z. Some of the🔥actionable insights we discussed include: 👉🏾 Be authentic in storytelling – focus on the full "human experience" and not just moments of success. Tell the story leading up to the success. 👉🏾 Be values-driven and confident in communicating those values internally and externally. Take a stand on issues that matter and be confident in communicating what your stand is and why it matters. 👉🏾 Ensure that feedback moves beyond the surface to inspire and inform change. Offer constructive feedback that is action-oriented and specific. 👉🏾 Focus on the 4 Cs – connection, curiosity, context, and co-creating. How are we building and managing connections that are less transactional and more relational? How are we balancing teaching and learning together plus finding the confidence/courage to ask questions and dig deeper to understand each other and the issues we are aiming to address. Are we taking time to share context including the why behind decisions, tasks, and goals? Are we ensuring that there are seats at the table for those impacted by decisions and strategy – inviting them to share perspectives and co-create solutions to challenges plus strategies for growth. Special thanks to Jennifer Walker Bradbury for collaborating on the session plus all of the Taco Bell Foundation board members and committee members for joining the staff for this session! When we are intentional about pausing, zooming out, and learning together, we individually and collectively drive change and innovation both in our mindset and actions. #continuousimprovement #CSR #socialimpact #futureofwork #genZ #management #inclusion #belonging #equity #HR #HRCommunity #philanthropy #change #earlycareer #professionaldevelopment

As the CEO of RCL FOODS’ The Do More Foundation, I am constantly reminded of the profound impact that the right team can have on our work . Jim Collins, in his seminal book “Good to Great” emphasises the importance of having the right people in the right seats on the bus. This principle is not just a strategy—it's our foundation. Each member of our team brings unique skills, passions, and perspectives that are essential to our success. When these talents are aligned and directed towards a common purpose, magic happens. Imagine a rowing team: if everyone rows in different directions, chaos ensues. But when everyone rows in unison, guided by a shared vision, the boat glides effortlessly through the water. This is the essence of our work at the The Do More Foundation Our success stories are a testament to the power of alignment and collaboration. From innovative projects that have changed lives to the everyday victories that keep us moving forward, it is our team’s collective effort that makes it all possible. I am incredibly proud of each member of our team and their unwavering dedication. Together, we are not just achieving our goals—we are surpassing them. Let this be a reminder that with the right people in the right seats, all pointed in the right direction, there is no limit to what we can achieve. Here is to the power of teamwork and the incredible journey ahead! #teamwork #people #strategy
