🐻 Bear Safety Reminder from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office 🐻 #DCSO Sgt. Glassburner recently captured a video of a bear cub and mama bear exploring his neighborhood. While they seem cute and cuddly, we want to remind everyone that bears are wild animals and should always be treated with caution and respect. Here are some important tips to keep in mind: Keep Your Distance: Admire bears from afar. Never approach or attempt to feed them. Secure Food and Trash: Bears are attracted to food and garbage. Keep these items stored securely to prevent attracting bears to your home or campsite. Stay Calm: If you encounter a bear, remain calm. Do not run. Slowly back away and make yourself look as large as possible. Make Noise: If you're hiking or in bear territory, make noise to avoid surprising a bear.

Attention California HOA members! Are there Acacia bushes planted in your community's common areas? Be aware of the potential fire hazard they pose. These woody shrubs are full of oils that make them highly flammable, and their intertwining branches make it difficult to clean out dead, combustible leaf material underneath. Check out this raw video from a few years ago that shows even irrigated Acacia burning despite continuous water drops from three helicopters. Don't let your community's landscaping put your homes at risk. #California #HOA #firehazard

Climate change causing California wildfires? From the California State Fire Marshall: "95% of the wildfires in our jurisdiction are caused by people. That ranges from accidental to negligence to arson, and everything in between." on a question I posed to him and answered. No climate agenda is going to stop this. If, however, the insurance and building construction industry wants to solve this issue, spend the money on using building materials like MgO that are noncombustible rather than combustible wood products in fire regions. MgO also sequesters carbon as a matter of its chemistry while in use, wood does not. Wood only stores the carbon, and its former tree no longer sequesters carbon dioxide, and any replacement seedlings will take many decades to equal the amount of CO2 sequestered by that now felled tree that produced the wood that built these structures thus the rise in CO2 atmospheric concentrations. As the world population continues to increase, this will only get worse unless other approaches and materials to building structures are looked at rather than using only wood products. Look for our US MgO mega factories coming soon. Mike Cregan Robert (RY) Scarborough (LION 3K) David Salem Klaus Meyer Mustaafa Ali
