Become a #hungerfighter and join us in supporting local families facing summer food insecurity! ☀️ 🥦🍎 Your contribution will provide essential assistance to families who depend on school meals for their children. 100% of your donation goes to our nonprofit partners: Action for Boston Community Development, Inc., People Helping People, Inc. - Burlington MA, and Boston Medical Center (BMC)'s Preventive Food Pantry. 👶👧🧒 The Children's Advocacy Center provides vital support and resources to children and families who have experienced trauma or abuse. We believe that every child deserves love, care, and a chance to heal. And that's where YOU come in! 🙌 🎁📚 We are seeking donations of new items that will bring joy and comfort to these young individuals. Here are some suggested items you can donate: 1️⃣ Toys and Games: Help brighten their days with age-appropriate toys, stuffed animals, puzzles, board games, and art supplies. 2️⃣ Books: Foster their love for reading by donating new or gently used books for all age groups. Inspire their imaginations and provide an escape into the world of storytelling. 3️⃣ Clothing and Accessories: Children and teens often need new clothes due to growth or changes in their circumstances. You can contribute by donating new clothing, shoes, and accessories. 4️⃣ School Supplies: Help them succeed academically by providing new school supplies, backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, and other essentials. 5️⃣ Personal Care Items: Support their well-being by donating new toiletries, hygiene products, and personal care items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, and soap. 💙💚 Your generous donations will make a significant difference in the lives of these children and families , showing them that they are valued and cared for by their community. Let's come together and make a positive impact! 💙💚
We are often asked, "How can we help the children you work with?". Since the brave kids we work with often come to us with nothing but the clothes on their backs, your generous donations can help provide them with the essentials they need. 📍 Drop-off Location: 525 W Wisconsin Rd, Edinburg 🕒 Drop-off Times: Monday - Friday 9am - 4pm 🙏 Thank you for your support! Together, we can bring HOPE and comfort to at a time when these children need it most. #SupportChildren #DonateNow #CommunityLove #MakeADifference #RGV

According to an analysis released yesterday in conjunction with a project called BIG JOY, people who engage in daily acts of #kindness or #gratitude experience a lift in emotional well-being, positive emotions like hope and optimism, become happier and have improved relationships. This #nationalphilanthropyday, what act can you do that will lift your spirits? Need an idea? Check out how you can help your community through your local DG store below! (More on the Big Joy project: https://lnkd.in/gA7k3rs6)
From DG’s Feeding America partnership to our St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Thanks and Giving campaign, this #nationalphilanthropyday we celebrate the many ways our teams exhibit the Company’s mission of #ServingOthers. For the upcoming holiday season, join us in exhibiting kindness as we collect toys for local nonprofits to distribute to children in need at each of our ~20,000 stores through December 8. Dollar General is here for what matters and will also be donating $100,000 to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. The highlight of my week was Sussex Community Foundation's #SussexintheCity event. 132 people came to hear Torsten Bell of Resolution Foundation talk about the impact of the #costofliving crisis on ordinary families, and we explained how UK Community Foundations, are supporting vital local charities that are giving hope for the future. Torsten showed that inflation affects the poorest people most - many people find their budgets just do not cover their most basic needs. When times are tight most of us go to a cheaper supermarket, or buy own brands. But if you are already shopping at the cheapest place, there is nowhere to go but to skip meals. Many mothers are missing meals so that their children can eat. This is why we need local charities to help in this emergency. This crisis is deep, and urgent. It is also long lasting. But we can make a difference - by supporting your local community foundation you can help local charities today and for the long term, and truly change people's lives. #philanthropy #sussexinthecity #charity #communityfoundations
